mod friendly dealers?

hey i have a 07 MCS jcw , yet i have an Alta air intake in their and after market HID's, yet i have to bring my car in for service, i have a couple questions.
do i have to take that out, would they void my warranty if they see it?
do you know if they care at all?
and which is more mod-friendly Morristown or Princeton, yet Princeton is where i bought mine.

No experience with Princeton. But bought my car in Morristown (20 min away) and service in at Prestige MINI in Mahwah (an hour away) because Morristown gives you all sorts of "trouble" for mods.

Yes. And no matter what you do a dealer can't void your warranty, but they can either make your experience pleasant or unpleasant. Prestige has always been pleasant. It would be hard to imagine Princeton could be worse than Morristown although Morristown cleaned house at some point (since 02 - my MINI is 6 years old tomorrow) and is considerably better than they used to be though. But I'm still not comfortable.

I would think that I have a lot of aftermarket parts on my mini and everytime I bring it to Princeton they love the car. Always asking whats new on it. They even have to work on my car in a bay that has a different lift in it because my car is only about 2 inches off the ground. They have to schedule my services in a way so this bay is free, because a BMW tech works in it. They are good in my book! Never asked about the parts I have on the car at all.

I just shipped a ton o parts to Morristown MINI for a customers MINI that they are installing and this is not the 1st time this customer has had Morristown install non-JCW mods. I've talked to Mike the service writer and he has been easy to work with.

Mod friendly dealers

I used to work at Princeton. Modification, other than those done in the factory, or at the dealer, will not be worked on. It is a liability issue for the company (MINI/BMW) and the dealer. My experience is that, if a modified car is worked on at the dealer (not done at dealer or factory), the dealer is penalized by HQ. Again, it is a liability issue for all. I believe you will have to remove it all before service.

I just got off the phone with Morristown MINI about a customers MINI. Without getting into the details, I can say without question that not only is Morristown MOD Friendly, they are upstanding guys that are really working on making YOUR MINI the best it can be.

Got MODS? Go To Morristown for install and service.
