With the 2004 MY, a MINI Cooper, upon selection of the Premium Package, has a choice between the base leather MFSW or the Sport Leather MFSW (the latter as a no cost option and is the same MFSW that would come on the MCS w/ the Premium Package).

I choose the Sport MFSW, however, my online order says:

"S-style Sport Steering Wheel" as well as Premium Package.

The description above is for the MCS base steering wheel, which is a $200 option for the MC. I spoke with my Motoring Advisor about this and they have assured me that in order to get the Sport MFSW on a MC, they have to order it this way.

I am looking for some reassurance that this is indeed correct as I've had to educated my dealer once or twice already about their own product. And, my car will be wholey unsatisfactory if it comes to me with a regular MCS sport steering wheel (non-MFSW).

Anyone with a similar order? Is yours the same?

Thanks,

BullyBob

Bob,

Sorry that no one replied to you.
I am in the exact same situation with an '04 cooper ordered a couple of weeks ago.
I assume that by this point, you have an answer to your question with the arival of your Cooper.

So, how did it work out? Was your wheel multifunction?

Thanks!
Steve

Bob,

As of 2004 models, the old non-S-style steering wheel was discontinued. Now, when you order the premium package, the computer automatically selects the S-Style Sport Wheel, with the premium package, it comes in Multi-Function.

There are now two sport steering wheel options, the S-Style and 3-spoke version. The 3-spoke version on a Non-S is a chargable option if I'm not mistaken, and the S-style two spoke is no charge.

I hope this answers your question.
