A Sad Day for any MINI owner...

Well, the day that I didn't think would come has. Since he is the only car that I own that isnt paid off, I have to sell Mickey to cut some of my costs right now. I know that this will NOT be the last time I get behind the wheel of a MINI. I have no choice right now since we are saving for a new house. I put him on AutoTrader last night and here is the listing:

07 MINI COOPER S FOR SALE

I never thought that selling a car would make me this bummed.

Good luck with the sale and with the new house. With house prices falling and MINI prices rising this probably works out well for you financially.

Hey don't even think twice about it. The MINI will always be there and the house is more important right now for your family. The great and wonderful news is that you have not had a bad experience that will keep you from buying another when you can. That is awesome and you are still a part of the community even while you don't have a MINI temporarily

Before I went to college I had a duplex and three nice cars. I had to decide to keep working and enjoying my stuff or sell it all so I could go to school.

I sold everything and rode a moped for four years at Berkeley and had a BUG while in grad school.

Later I have had ups and downs in life where I have had the best cars to no car.

I have always tried to say "it's just a car" but like you I was still bummed at times.

But you have to make decisions that are best at the time. I have found that I have always got over the depression of getting rid of something I really like. What has always been true is that later I have been able to buy something else, if not the same thing that I had to earlier sell.

Time heals all wounds. Besides, getting the house is the more important than keeping the MINI, isn't it?

^^Oh definitely. Thats why I am selling him. I know that I have to put priorities first and I know that I will have another MINI in my driveway someday. But, that doesnt mean that Im not bummed about it. Oh well life goes on.

I'd like to believe that sometimes in life things happen for a reason. About a year & half ago I sold my house in the country and bought a condo in the big city, long story short, I had to sell my loved BMW motorcycle and my brand new VW Rabbit ( we had three vehicles and only one parking spot) and I took a beating in trading too, but somehow I ended up buying a MINI. Eventhough I'm very happy the way things turned out, I get little sad, everytime I see a bike or a VW Rabbit. Se la vie...

It is good that you have fallen in love with your MINI (I don't think I love mine, yet), but even better that you are making the proper decision for your household.

You'll one day have another MINI in your driveway of your new home... now what a happy sight THAT will be!

Forget the driveway, reserve some space in the garage. It's not a house, it's a MINI garage with some living space somewhere.

^^Ha ha. Yeah I kept this one in the garage. I was figuratively speaking about the driveway.

wrxdriver,
I can understand you being bummed over having to sell your beloved '07 MC but we all have to make financial sacrifices from time to time and yours is totally understandable regarding saving for a new house.
