Pictures of MCS R84 stock rims with different tires?
Hi all,
I have a '05 MCS with the stock R84(i believe, not the s-lites) rims. I have no plans to change out my rims however I am thinking of getting non-runflats in a different size than the 195/55's that are on there now. I'm looking at such sizes as 205/50, 205/55, 205/60, 215/50, 215/55, 215/60 but am undecided because I can't visualize the tire on the R84's in my head and its hard to find such specific pictures on the web. So I'm turning to the board for people who have pics of the R84's with non-stock tires in diffrent sizes. Any help?
I'll start it off. It's not the best pic but here's an old pic of my car when I just bought it with the stock rims and tires(195/55). I have the R84's in white now due to a dealer misorder on my initial purchase.

I put Goodyear Eagles in 205/50 on Quentin.

They don't look much if any different from stock to me (apart from the tread pattern). I went for the tires, not the look.

Yeah they clear everything. The only time they EVER rubbed was when I had 2 people in the back going over large bumps, and even then the rears were the only ones that rubbed and they barely touched the inner fender liners. But I solved that when I took the rear seats out lol

AutoX, Thanks but I was really looking for different size tires on the stock 16" rims.
Is there anyone else?!

The difference is in theory 9.5mm (less than 1/2"). They're 1.5% smaller than stock so the speedo gets a bit more optimistic.

Yeah, I'm aware of the speedo/odo difference with the smaller tires. That is one of the factors i'm thinking about when changing. Appearance is also something I'm considering as well. So far the stats on putting 215/50/16's are most intriguing to me because they match the 195/55's so close, yet provide a wider tire.
Here's 2 pics with a back profile giving you a view of the tire width.

Looking at tirerack, there are very few tires in 215/55. That's probably why I've never looked into that size. I was shopping for the performance, I wasn't worried about the looks.
my bad
I really like the look of them, but they're a bugger to keep clean. The latest MINIs have had the simplest wheels you could get, that's be bridgespokes, mainly just to make them easier to clean.
It's all good
Got the 215/50's!
Well, I got the Kumho Ecsta ASX's in 215/50's installed today. Unfortunately(or maybe fortunately?) earlier this week I got a screw in my rear left tire and decided to take the plunge and get a whole new set of tires since my right rear had really bad inner tire tread wear. They DO make a difference, the non-runflats, smoother ride and not as rigid. Not too much of a difference in look from the 195's but there is a notable difference in tire tread width and do close up the wheel gap just a tiny bit which is cool. I'll try to post up pictures in the future just for keepsake. Thanks for your help everyone!
Well, just for completion sake, I finally got to update my pictures. Even though my car hasn't had a hand wash since early October
, here's some angles with my purchased 215/50's. The difference is hardly noticeable but I think the wheel gap is closed ever so slightly

I still think this thread has some sort of relevance for R84 owners.
