MINI5280 Meeting 9/9/2008 7:00PM

To enjoy the waining days of summer, let's have another Sonic Drive-In meeting. This time we will journey north to Sloan Lake and partake in the American cuisine that is Sonic Drive-in.
Please attend this meeting so we can get a wrap-up of MITM3, plan for the English Motoring Conclave on 9/13 & 9/14, discuss the 9/28 picnic at Chat field Lake and fine tune everyone's interests in the upcoming Yalla Yalla 2008 to be held on 10/26.
Tuesday September 9th meet the rest of your MINI buds at 7:00 PM:
SONIC Drive-In
2463 SHERIDAN BLVD
EDGEWATER, CO 80214--1329
(303) 232-5001
http://www.sonicdrivein.com/locator/locMap.do?transaction=locMap&recordId=4017&rollove r=2&iconId=40
Hope to see you there!

Both, though not too recently. Was there a specific question you had about it? It's easy to find, so that shouldn't be a problem.

If you look at the google street view you can see it on the West side of the street. Either my browser is acting up, or google maps went wonky; while it's showing the correct image, the little guy icon is several blocks away from the actual location. Trust the address and image, not where the icon points. Silly computers.

I was just wondering if, being so far north, there was snow up there this time of year.

If it was the Sonic at Flatirons you might have to worry about the snow. Never been to this one.

Perhaps we should have the November meeting at Flatirons Sonic

I'm sure the folks that really are North will be laughing that you think Edgewater is "north". Considering that it's still very south of anywhere north.

I'd consider it "central" myself; bordering Denver and Lakewood like it does.

If you want snow, then Flatirons in November will just about do it. Personally I don't want to sit outside in November, how's about somewhere nice and warm inside? If we go North, we've have decent success with BJ's Restaurant and Brewery, near the Westminster Promenade.

What - no polar bears up there? I shouldn't put the snow tires on?
What are you saying?

Despite the avalanche threat and reports of Yeti attacks in the general area, we are still trekking to the great white north for our meeting next week.
Please sign-up on the calendar if you plan on attending.

Today is Tuesday?
Why yes it is.
and is it 9/9/08?
Very good, it is indeed.
That means there is a MINI5280 meeting tonight.
Excellent, you are quite astute.

Look out guys, Chuck is talking to himself; I've seen it happen before and it's not pretty. This should be an interesting meeting.

I wonder if it will be the bold or italic speaker who will be in charge of him tonight? And speaking of split personalities, I'm getting me one of those new $.99 banana splits tonight. maybe Chuck is already segmenting his mind to best enjoy it. See you all at sonic.

Now that my son is in South Dakota for college and I'm the only male left in the house; I find talking to myself is very appealing. Besides, my girls prefer that over the alternative.
......
So how was your day?
Dad, don't you have some MINI thing to do?
um, yeah I do - nice talking to you.

Chuck #1:
I am planning on being there....

Chuck #2:
Is there cell phone reception up there in case I get lost so far from home?

Chuck #3:
I have full tank of gas, road maps, compass, will keep the mountains on my left coming, on the right going home... Anything else to consider?

Mikes

Snow chains, sleeping bag, candle, emergency food & water, tow rope and a shovel.
Pretty typical winter survival gear that I always have in the car when I go that far north.
Cell phones are iffy, but short-wave radios will work (assuming northern light activity is minimal).

It's like a desert up here, going to be warm. Watch out for the sand.

Well, we might still consider showing up if there is going to be some cat juggling. That'd be sweet!
