The Rover Shop- Anyone Been There?

The Rover Shop in Lake Villa apparently specializes in MINIs. I was pretty excited to see that there is a non-dealer shop that knows the ins and outs of our kookie cars.

Has anyone taken their car there? I've considered stopping in for an oil change when I'm due, which is pretty soon.

Import Service in Glenview is also a great place to take your mini. Lots of knowledge of the german cars and I take my mini there for everything now that it is out of warranty. Plus they are straight forward about prices which is very nice. Not sure if that would be a little closer for you or not.

It was actually the shop where Jan did his Chicago tuning event. All of the guy's there are very good and more than willing to bend over backwards to make you happy. We had a few unexpected circumstances happen and they jumped right in to make sure everyone was up and running. I would strongly recommend them...

good to know that someone went there and had a good experience.

I think its time for a tune-up, I keep getting crummy gas mileage. I'm due for another one, but before this last oil change I was only getting 18.5MPG. Ugh. Now it seems like its getting worse...

Its always something!

I had Glen at The Rover Shop install a new supercharger belt, new JCW Injectors, change the oil & filter and adjust the Miltek exhaust system tips to rear valence clearance. All work was beautifully done. I will take my car there for all non-warranty work. This is the place that had "The Jan Tune" last month. My car was 4th in line to have Jan do his magic that day and went from 182whp to 193whp.

As a person who has delt with Glenn of the Rover Shop I can say that Glen is a quality person to deal and he went out of his way to help me out. I have no problem recommending him or his shop as he treated my more like family than a customer. Anyone who is thinking of taking their car there will not be sorry.

I've taken CHEQQRS to Glenn for an oil change, CAI, 15% pulley, new belt and spark plugs on one trip. Then a second trip for new belt tensioner with a smaller belt (totally my mistake on the size). The third trip I dropped off the car the day before the RMW tune (203.5 whp for me). Glenn installed a Hamann rear air diffuser and a silicone CAI tube. He helped arrange a rental car for the weekend. He is very careful and thorough. He's bent over backwards to help me in any way he can. I will drive the two hours down to The Rover Shop from Madison, WI for all my service MINI needs. Nothing but my highest recommendation for Glenn!
