Palo Uber Prototype

I've been running this new prototype scoop from Palo Uber.
Swapping out the scoops was simple and I'm really liking the look of the more subtle lines of the refined scoop.

Prototype Scoop:

Original Scoop:

I've been very pleased with it

It's $299, same carbon weave as the original, This is one of the early molds I have. It's going into production this week I believe... Should know more soon.

This scoop, like the extension wing, has a more streamlined look to it that i really like. It's more in line with the JCW & M7 scoop with the more angled opening instead of the aggressive vertical opening that really stands out giving the mini a real unique look. running this scoop along with the Extension wing really ties in the exterior look I am after, I think that the original scoop works well with the aggressive 3 way adjustable spoiler since they are both more "Race Look" components. I was looking through their site for more info on the scoop and noticed that it's available for pre-order as well....

available here for anyone interested: http://1346843.estore.networksolutio...ail.bok?no=167

Thanks, Glad you like the car. It's really come together in the past few months with the suspension/wheel/lowered adjustments made. The look is finally where I would like it to be as well as better handling on the roads.

Looks like we have some jokers contributing to the thread... Honestly if your not interested, just don't click on the thread in the first place......
I've been happy to be able to test their now scoop and am simply trying to give an honest review of the product.

Actually, your posts raise an interesting point...

what is one to do when a couple interesting products come from a company that has such a poor track record. Yes it's another scoop and it will appeal to some. But there's a reason Palo Uber isn't a vendor here anymore. (Actually, there are many!) So what's the NAMer to do?

By supporting them, one endorses the craap that they do. By not supporting them, one deprives onself of the few interesting products that they make.

Decision, decisions!

True, Decisions, Decisions....

In my eyes to each his own, we're all old enough here to make our own decisions.

Last time I checked I didn't find myself putting any crap on my car...
And to be honest I find their Carbon Fiber parts to be some of the nicest available for the mini, the Weave is much more impressive than the Carbon M7 offers.

I know they are not a vendor here anymore, that wont stop me from posting a review about a new Carbon Fiber product they are working on.

Fine and good.

but if you do post, you've got to know that it will draw comments, like an internet forum lightning rod, don't you?

Thanks guys for the
For those interested in my current scoop, I probably won't be letting go of it.
I'm still running it since the New scoop is still in production and will not be available till September.
Down the road I might change my mind, I may keep it thought to use at shows if I show the car with the 3 way adjustable spoiler..
We'll see what happens when I get there...

Sounds like Coop needs to get vendor status if he is going to promote products.

I'm confused, why would I need vendor status to review a product?
I'm not selling anything, I simply answered a question regarding the $
and provided the link I came across on their site..
Last time I checked there were a bunch of thread regarding parts and reviews/feedback.

Gotta say...

I agree with you 100%. Not your business, not your vendor status.

Off topic, but only by a few inches...

Of all the aftermarket grills I've seen, that one looks the coolest, and the color and general attitude integrates with you car's aggressive appearance excellently.

MidniteCoop,

You're right - "regular" (non-NAM vendor) posters are allowed to review/discuss *anyone's* products & services, as long as they're not personally connected to the product under discussion. The whole "NAM vendor" program was never meant to stifle discussion about competing products from non-NAM vendors. Rather, it was implemented so that manufacturers/resellers/retailers couldn't come in here and use NAM as a free advertising site.

As you pointed out, there are a LOT of products/services that get discussed here every day that aren't available (as far as I know) from any NAM vendor, like iPhones, various car audio speakers & amplifiers, the Kuda mount, various portable GPS units, window-tinting services, clear bra installers, etcetera.
