Black lugs or studs for 15mm wheel spacers?

I'm looking for a set of black lugs or stud kit that will work with 15mm H&R spacers. My MINI is a GP, so it's got the 14x1.25 lug size.

I did a search, but didn't find much.

To work with a 15mm spacer, I think the required lug size is 45mm, is that correct?

The only place I know of that has something close is radusadirect.com, but they're silver.

Thanks in advance!

Call turner motorsport. They don't show the 14' on the website but they may have them.

I know they've got extended black bolts in a 12x1.5mm.

they are pretty much a BMW race and aftermarket company so they may have what you need.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did contact TMS. They said they didn't carry them, and didn't know who does.

Looks like time for a lug conversion.

The stock lug bolts are 28mm so 43mm works for 15mm spacers.

I also have a GP and want to add 15mm spacers. For over a year, I have looked all around for studs or lug bolts. I could not find any studs that would work properly. The TSW conversion studs were just a little too short, in my opinion, for the 15mm spacers. TSW says they are designed for 10mm spacers. The only thing I could find were the 14x1.25 43mm lug bolts from RadUSA. I talked to Phil from RadUSA at MTTS. I told him the only reason I have not ordered lugs from him yet is because I want black lug bolts. He said the best would be to get them anodized black. I asked him about powdercoating them black because I have a powdercoater. He said that engine paint sticks pretty well and is easy to redo.

Last week I ordered the 43mm lug bolts from RadUSA and I plan to paint them with black engine enamel paint.

Sounds like a plan! Let me know how it turns out.

Interesting, just found these on the RadUSA site, sounds like it'd be one other option -

An alternate solution may be the spacer itself. If you purchased 15s because 10s were too little perhaps you have some additional materials not required. Any decent small shop can turn down the thickness to any size you like. If you only really need 12mm then have them remove 3mm of meat.

Bruzasd,
The caps will work but I did not want to use caps because of the extra pain taking the caps off. I have a Suburban with caps and I get frustrated taking the caps off each time I take a wheel off. Also if a shop removes your wheel, it is likely they will not at first notice the caps and not take them off before hitting the bolt with an impact wrench. If you go with caps, you will need to be careful not to scratch the wheel with the cap removal tool because there is not much room in the wheel hole.

Todd,
The issue with using 10mm spacers is with the snub on the hub. With 10mm spacers you lose the wheel centering snub. That is why spacers for Minis jump from 5mm (no need for a snub on the spacer to 15mm (with snub on spacer) and not much in between 5 and 15. I think you might still be able to find a 7 or 8mm but I do not think you can find a 12mm. Of course you can make a 12mm out of a 15mm by lossing some of the centering snub. There has been a lot of debut on NAM about whether or not the centering snub is needed. Actually, I may have to cut down my rear spacers to 12-13mm depending on the amount of rubbing I have due to lowering. Also, 15mm is about right for the GP wheels due to their 52mm offset.

Just FYI you can get any lugs you find Hard Anodized in black.

PK Selective is one of the largest companies in the US but you can most likely find a local place to do the same thing. Check metal polishers in your area information and call and ask them about the service.

I use this company to treat many parts on my Mini for both cosmetic and protective qualities. http://www.pkselective.com/

Gottcha. The problem with the 10mm or so and wheel snout support (for those not quite following this) is that the inside of the spacer needs to be counter bored to fit the snout, then the outer surface needs to be extended to produce the new snout. Sounds easy enough. But depending upon the length of the steel hubs protrusion you may well not have enough material to bore it without breaking out. In other words you can't put an innie with and outie and have any gut in the middle!

Personally I've seen mixed reviews without the use of centering rings. Actually many of the oem wheels I've dealt with on BBK fit seem fine being "stud centric" but more of the aftermarket ones have issues and needed them.

Carry on.

Black Paint Update:
The black engine enamal paint did not work well on the lug bolts. The paint started chipping off at the egdes when torqued with a socket. I have cleaned off the paint and I am going to powdercoat the lug bolts. I am sure that anodizing would be best but I can powdercoat for free. I will let you all know how the powdercoat works.

I just got 15mm H&R hub-centric spacers and 43 mm 12x1.50 wheel bolts for my JCW black R105 18"s on my JCW MCS Cabrio from Pro Parts in Canoga Park, Ca. 818 888 8904

The bolts are silver but after installing them I'll paint the tops of them semi-gloss black. If I have to touch them up every now and then, so be it.

Black Paint Update #2:
I powdercoated the lug nuts black but when I tested one lug bolt the black still chipped off slighly on the contact egdes. I then applied clear satin powdercoat over the black. That seemed to work well. I also purchased a vinyl protected lug bolt socket that might help a little.
