Tex Susbo has just picked up his MSC. We are doing a road trip to LLano and then down to Fredericksburg on Sept 13th and 14th. The plan is to leave the Houston area bright and early and rendevous with other MINI owners @ 11:00 at Cooper's Pit Barbecue for lunch. From there we will motor down to Fredericksburg. Once there, we would go to a winery or two, shop, eat, drink wine etc. Anyone interested in coming, is more than welcomed. 4 or 5 people that hang out in the Owner's Lounge are planning on meeting us.

Sunday plans are open, could be we have a Best of the Wurst cookout at a state park before heading back. It would basically be a sausage pot luck lunch.

Wow sounds like fun! I'm a tourist in Houston for a couple days right now, probably going to go to the Space Center... Right now I'm snagging some wireless at Super 8. Sure is fun to be on a road trip!

 

This is going to be a great drive! Looking forward to stretching Bob's legs and motoring around the Texas Hill Country.

The hubby and I are in San Antonio, so Fredericksburg is about and hour and a half drive for us. We can meet all of you there.

 

That sounds great. We're planning for BBQ somewhere in Llano but not sure where (Tx Jaybird will know). A line of MINIs in the Hill country is sounding good!

 

Ahem..... Read the fine print above Susbo. Lunch is at Cooper's Pit Barbecue. Can you imagine many MINI Coopers at Cooper's Real Pit Barbecue? You have all of the makings of a manager

Oh and we are planning on meeting about 11:00 am for lunch.

 

Sounds like fun. We've yet do to any Texas MINI get-togethers. Maybe this can be our MINI debut. Hopefully by September, these dismal triple digit temps will be gone. March and April in the Hill Country were great for us, so hopefully September will be similar.

I got reservations all set for Susbo and myself. It is the Holiday Inn Express in Fredericksburg. There appeared to be plenty of rooms available. Glass Girl over in the Owner's Lounge is going to make dinner reservations. So if you are going to join us, let us know.

 

It looks like we got 7 definites from the Owners lounge + some spouses. I am going to set up a wine tasting at Becker's Winery. Please let me know if you can come so we can get a good head count.

 

We finally took the Republic this weekend after having to postpone due to Hurricane Ike.

It was well worth the wait and a fun time was had by all. Beautiful weather, great roads, and a whole new batch of MINI-driving friends (plus one Z4 cousin as well).
