How to remove MINI emblem from hood?

I have a 03 MCS with a 3M clear bra, however after those 5 years its beginning to look a bit ratty so I would like to remove it.

However it has been applied under the emblem on the hood which makes it a bit difficult to remove fully.

How do I go about poping the MINI emblem off the hood safely so it can be re-installed after the bra is removed?

The emblem is held on with double-sided tape. I've used a good piece of fishing line to kind of "cut" the tape between the emblem and the bonnet. Keep in mind that the emblem has a couple of mounting lugs on it - you'll have to "floss" around those.

Once the emblem is off, you can use some sort of adhesive remove to get the goo off. If memory serves me right, I used goo-gone.

Are you sure the clearbra is actually under the emblem? I'd be surprised if someone installing a clearbra would go to the trouble of removing and reinstalling the emblem. My clearbra was cut out around the emblem. Now that the emblem is gone, it's all clearbra. In fact, I had to tell the clearbra installer that it didn't have the emblem so that they wouldn't cut out the bra to clear the emblem. (Seems the clearbras are precut.)

Setting the car in the sun or heat helps pull the old one off and +1 on the dental floss trick , working for the sides first seem to help.

Removing of the foam residue the some WD40 or any other substance of similar removal chemical will work, prep the surface clean helps adhere the new one, remove all the grease.

Line it up with the pins and make sure its aligned properly straight.

Just make sure you get the correct emblem for the front. Peal and stick application.

Gen 1 R53 & R52 MINI Cooper S "Hood" Emblem is smaller Part number 51140660106

If you want to reinstall the original emblem what type of adhesive should you use? I'm assuming the old adhesive should be cleaned off first.

If you are replacing the original emblem with the alignment pins, It should be easy to align.
My go to adhesive / of choice has always been E6000. It bonds to just about anything, flexible, cures fast, clear and is super strong ("silicone on steroids"). A couple of small strategically placed dabs e.g: Behind the tips of each wing and a couple dabs - top, bottom, left and right of center circle.
Again small dabs are all that is needed. In the event any oozes out beyond the emblem - you can wipe/clean it up as it's setting up/rubbery. Try and keep it off your bare fingers or clothes. Since it cures and remains flexible - With a little bit of effort (as described in the previous replies), later you'll be able to remove your emblem in the future.
