Alas poor Nigel, we hardly knew ye
Well last night as I was sipping a few cool ones with some buddies at a local bar, talking about manly things, a drunk blew through a stop sign at a "T" intersection, into the bars parking lot and took out Nigel. After the cop came in and said "Who owns the red MINI" I rushed out and was devasted to see a HUGE raised Ford 250 Super Duty dualie sitting ON TOP of the bonnet with the left front tire sitting where the windshield should be and spewing coolant into the cockpit. The cops estimated he was going anywhere from 45 to 55. No skidmarks.
I just got a call from the insurance company and it is totaled. Nigel had 5100 miles.
Rest in Peace Nigel.

I guess the loss of beloved Nigel is better than this creep running people over in the street or sidewalks. But to lose Nigel to such a jerk. The ultimate justice would have been for his truck to throw him out the windshield and run over him. I'd feel a lot better then. One less idiot to deal with.

I think Nigel went out the way I would want my car to go out. If it's involved in an accident, please let it be total'd, so I can start fresh, rather than trying to bandaid it back together.
Good luck with your next model.

I'm really sorry to hear that.
Glad you were not in it.
What will you do between now and the time you
pick up Nigel2, since it is looking to be a 6 month wait?
It would be funny (I mean in a hypothetical way this would
never happen of course) if you could get a judge to give
an order "well, callahan has no car for 6 months. You, billybob,
will now ride the bus, and callahan will drive your wife's
new 1-series"
BUT JUDGE HE WONT TAKE CARE OF IT
"well son, it looks like you didn't take very good care of his either"
Man that would be JUSTICE.

The other driver had some minor injuries and was arrested. I've already talked to my MA and he is trying to find a similar build but as he said "don't hodl your breath". This time I'll order rear fogs!
It's all been said by everyone else above. But I am sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you'll be able to find a satisfactory temporary ride while you wait for Nigel's replacement. And may I close by saying that I don't think Nigel would mind if his replacement bears his name. I think it's a great name and well worth keeping!

wait -- you lost your Mini *and* your iPhone?????
My God, man -- where's the humanity!
The suffering.... the SUFFERING!
(Seriously, I'd be lost without my Mini or my iPhone; can't see life without both)

I certainly hope the driver gets significant jail time!
Add my condolences to the rest. I think Nigel threw himself in front of that truck to save the innocent children walking down the street to his left. A hero. Hope you keep a memento for your fireplace. You can tell his story to your new ride when he arrives. It's the way lessons are conveyed through the generations, you know. Keep the story alive.
You have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved Nigel.
RIP Nigel...
On a positive note: at least you were not directly involved in the mishap that totaled your MINI. Plus there's a new MINI in the pipeline with your name on it.
Good luck to you and keep us posted as to when you will be getting your new MINI.
Motor On!

Also, like others said, they need to cut a check immediately so you can get a new iPhone, etc.
Best thing, silver linings of sorts:
You can get a new MINI with stuff you did not have before.
MINIs have not gone down in value, depreciated, so you can get the full purchase price of a new one.
And like others said, good that it was totaled. No way you would want old Nigel patched. It would never be the same.
There is justice too. This is gonna cost that driver big time, not only in criminal charges, but also on insurance. Probably cost him $50,000 out of pocket over time between fines, lawyer, and increased insurance costs.

?

REALLY glad you weren't in it at the time.
