Sorry to hear about your car. Let us know what you decide to get. I think a 2009 MINI JCW should be an easy capture for your if your budget will allow. :-)

I too feel your pain. Don't let Nigel's untimely demise set you back.
I'm sure that there is an 09 JCW that needs a good home, do the right thing...

There is also the chance that the macho 250 was AIMING at Nigel!

Being short of stature like he was, he was probably an easy target and also with a name like Nigel........ have you looked into the possibility that this was a hate crime??

08 Laser Blue/Silver Clubman on order.... Due date August 2

Sorry to hear about your loss, but for the record if it was a dullie then your were hit by a F-350, not a 250. The only good news I guess is now you get to start building your new one, and playing the where's my new Mini game.

Cheers

Jim

Dude, that sucks! Good luck dealing with his insurance, hopefully the two companies will take care of everything. Perhaps the bar can put up a little sign in the parking spot, you know kind of like a little memorial.

Seriously, get the guy for all it's worth. New iPhone, new MINI, rental car, the works.

Keep us informed on the situation. And as you pointed out, now you know the little things you might want to add or change!

I'm surprised the other driver wasn't sent to ICU after callahan got ahold of him.

Condolences. At least it didn't happen with you driving it after having a "few cool ones" under your belt.

Will there be a Nigel II? If you had any regrets about options, now you can change them.

That sucks. vbeyr sorry to here that. I like what everyone is saying, this time you around you have driven the car and know what you like and don't like, plus the whole JCW thing. 4 days after i took delivery on my 08 MCS i got a nice raise at work and could now afford a JCW. just go for it you only live once.

RIP Nigel

I too am sorry to hear about Nigel. I know I would be so angry if mine got hit after only 5100 mi. What could be the worst part is you have to suffer through the break in again, and wait 6 months to do it. Ouch.

I too have a drunk driver story related to my MINI. 2 years ago my wife was hit by a DD who then tried to leave the scene. She was driving an 03 VW Passat at about 45 MPH whe this guy ran a stop sign and careened off of a guard rail in to her lane. Car was totaled and my wife now has back pain if she sits or stands for any real length of time. On the whole she is ok and leads a full and normal life. I am beyond thankful that she was in a safe car and was not badly hurt. 2 years later we settled the law suit and were able to pay off some debt (VW and a student loan) Which made room in the budget for my MINI. Weird how a DD made mine possible. Good luck with Nigel Jr.

I must say your story brought tears to my eyes. Rest in peace Nigel. I can't imagine losing Stella Blue like that.
Maybe you should sue for pain and suffering!

Make sure to update us on the end result. You are not allowed to horrify NAM members, depress us, and leave us hanging.

This drama needs a very happy ending.

I'll bet he gets off Scott free. This country isn't nearly as hard on drunk drivers as it should be. I just hope he had insurance.
