Given my incredibly lame skills (point and shoot) I am lucky it came out as well as it did.
It's a busy 3-way intersection and I had to park my car illegally to get it in the shot. The cop on patrol was none too happy, but bought into my excuse of taking a picture for a major publication (good thing I wore my MINI hat).
It was about 7PM on an overcast day. It was very tough to get a picture with no cars or people in it ...and I don't have the know-how (or photoshop) to remove the power lines.
It is what is ..a good idea, poorly executed. But, what better stripes for the month of July ?
I really enjoy the monthly photo contest and have had some okay ideas ...but this was the first time I summoned the courage to enter ...just too many amazing photographers here. I could never take a picture like 2, 5, 7 or 10. Well, maybe if I read the manual and practiced 23 hours a day for a few years.
Dean.

I think its great as is, and makes me glad I didn't enter my Stars and Stripes photo.
I missed one of the photo entries, it has now been added as #13. My apologies for the mistake. If anyone who already voted wants to change their vote to 13, drop me a PM

I absolutely love #2. I like #7 as well, I just wish the cars were a tad bit brighter. Tough choice this month!

If you noticed the cars are all part of NAM too, it was a little west coast get together of 3 friend's and pictures were taken.
If you noticed, the car on the far left is UK SUV!!!

I really love the lighting in #2. Number 13 made me smile.
The glamour shots are nice, and well executed, but the MINIs are static.
In the end, I had to cast my vote for Number 10 because it's the most dynamic shot of all the submissions. It's not just the yellow line's balance with the MINI's color, it's also the asphalt lines created by the motion and how they're reflected in the door's panel. The movement caught in the wheel's spin only enhances the feeling of motoring.

I love numbers 2 and 5. I voted for two though because it's a really nice picture and goes with the subject pretty good. I like #7 also but it doesn't really go with the subject this month....but the Mini's look good. LOL
I like the shot, but I'm not totally convinced that it fits.
Sometimes there's a danger in that, such as when a pic goes "out of the box" (not the case here though). But it's there in the topic announcement every month, "Interpret that how you will".
Obviously, if you did that with a client, it'd be a whole different story.
Thanks for the vote.
