Is the stock rear MCS swaybar adjustable?

I was rotating the tires on my new (to me) 03 MCS over the weekend and noticed that the rear swaybar which I assume to be OEM as the rest of the car is stock and lady driven has 3 adjustment holes where the endlinks attach.

Am I wrong in calling these adjustment points, is the OEM rear bar adjustable or do I have some sort of aftermarket bar?

sounds like an after market bar, bonus for YOU! take a pic and we can tell you which one it is and how to use it. The OEM had no adjustments.

Well here is a picture of the bar,

I measured it with a peice of string probobally not in the best of spots but it was dark out and the mosquitos were deadly.

Any hints as to what brand bar this is?

Is that is an OEM (stockbar) that someone has drilled extra holes in

No. The flat end is too long for an OEM. OEM is only 17 mm. Measure it to confirm.

Is the bracket for the bushings totally rusted out? If so, might be worth replacing with some inexpensive bushings and carriers from Summit Racing - maybe $15 at a guess.

I note that the bar is connected in the middle hole. You would get slightly more responsive cornering if you moved it to the hole nearest the bar (shorter lever arm = more torsion).

Sorry guys I'm getting sick and my head is not clear at all and as I was in the shower I realized what I had done! The number I gave you was compleatly irrelevant I appologize.

The circumference of the bar was 87mm which = a radius of 27mm?

I find that hard to believe so my measurements must be wrong, I will go back out later and check it out!

Thanks for the help so far!

Yes the bracket is rusted the car has been through one Canadian winter, but I will replace those soon.

As far as the extra holes drilled, they really do not look like they have been added extra they seem to match up perfectly in sequence and no distortion between them as if they were all drilled at the same time, but who knows? Also if extra holes were drilled would the owner not of placed it on the most performance setting (assuming full stiff on the stock bar) instead of the middle position?

That looks exacally like the bar! and being 25.5mm it makes much more sense about my diameter measurement of 27mm. Further that bar has the not 100% smooth bends around the 90* twist that I noticed on the bar on the car.

When I drove the car I could not understand why no matter what the car would not understeer, even corner exit at close to tire limit, you could still turn in more (no traction) but instead of plowing it would just poorly turn in more to the corner.

It left me wondering, either Mini really made this car agressive from the factory because I could not imagine a rear bar making this car have more off throttle rotation, or somthing is not stock. But that being said, I loved the way the car behaved in corners!

Thanks again!
