WOW!!!!!

Picked her up yesterday and this grin has not left my face!!!

This car looks and drives, AMAZING. Nothing like when I had my 45 min test drive... but better.

It looks even better than I imagined with the R105 JCW wheels, and sport stripes. I have a few pics, but its been raining constantly since yesterday, so I have to take a few more when it dies down. I'll post all together later.

Funny story, trying to get used to the key"less" fob. I was going to dinner with the gf- and put my SLR in the trunk, then closed the boot[haha] and locked it- I went to check if it was locked by pressing the handle of the trunk- and it opened...! I was like uhh why is my trunk not locking?? Thinking there was something wrong, I went into dinner kind of upset that there was a defect already. After dinner we came back out to see if maybe it was on a 15 second timer lock or something- it was locked at first when my gf tried, and i thought oh, okay maybe problem solved. Then when i was walking towards her, it opened...?!?! I was like WTF is going on. Then it hit me, and i felt like the biggest idiot. I was like waiiit a minute- let me go over there, and you try it again. and of course, it was locked. =p

I love this car!!!

pictures coming.

Congratulations!! Mine won't be here for 3-4 more weeks, so I'll just live vicariously through you
Hey, could you take some great night time photos to showcase the instrument lighting?

Ah, just wait until you start learning all the other little secrets the car has.
It's a wonderful feeling owning a new MINI, enjoy.

Becareful of that Grin I'm told that in some cases it will not go away and may require plastic surgery to remove it.
Just ask fellow NAM member wbarnhill.
After recently picking up his new MINI we have been completely unable to remove the permanent grin off his face.

Tis true. Already motored 650 miles in less than a week, and I'm still stuck looking like this:

BTW, I believe the trunk latch is a button, kinda like the ones on the doors. Doesn't feel like a typical trunk latch. And it relocks as soon as you shut it. Gotta love Comfort Access!

You guys with the hardtops are so lucky ... At least you don't have to wear
a surgical mask like I had to for months in my cabrio.

You see, it was the only way to keep the bugs out of my mouth since I couldn't retract my mouth into a closed position.

I'm kind of hijacking this thread, but...since most of the posting folks here are on the east coast...and of course adding to NEW MINI owners excitement / ensuring the grin is permanent....:

Did you guys know about the big Guiness World Record MINI meeting near Williamsburg, VA this Saturday? Here's the link - and info is in the first post.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=146660
Fee is $5 per person, and you can pre-register for it (add your name and MINI to the official IwasThere record list!) on the 7Cities motoring club website (also included in that first post) where you can also get details on the location. The parade starts at 2pm. The record is currently held by Britain with 310 MINIs. We're not sure how many have already registered/will be there....but we're keeping our fingers crossed!! There will be the MINIs on Parade (thus counting for the Record), a MINI/Mini car show, games for the family/kids, and music bands. It sounds like a LOT of fun!

Is it really sad that the thought of going to this event has me grinning each morning like when I first got my car?

Awesome. Our cars are almost identical, except I have Chrome mirrors. I just got mine last Friday and I am seriously loving it. I have never in my life had so much fun driving a car (with the possible exception of driving my friend's brand new 335i on the AutoBahn this spring). What I love is how many people are surprised by the performance of the car when I give them a ride. Almost everyone who gets in the car falls in love with it. I have at least 2 friends seriously considering a Mini now. Too bad they can't get one for 6 months!

Congratulations on your new MINI!

We are on our third MINI. The grin does not go away. It only gets easier as your facial muscles adapt to the fun

I like to tell people it is a bio-link which recognizes my DNA when I press the button.

I picked up mine 3 weeks ago and the grin is semi permanent! Nearly 2000 miles in 3 weeks, sooner or later I guess I'll slow down, but it won't be any time soon! Enjoy

A guy actually asked me if it was a fingerprint scanner.

Ill try to see if I can get some tonight. The mood lighting switch is pretty sweet! its right next to the moonroof switch and you can switch between colors from matching orange to violet, blue, etc.

I'm coming up on 24 hrs of owning it, just about... NOW, i picked it up yesterday at this time. It came with 3 miles on it- I now have 120! =D
Been racking them up, working the gears, highway and city roads, not really "babying" it, but staying under 4k revs for now. Once I hit around 1000 I think i'll be a little free-er with the revs. Great low end power tho. No WOT of course, but half to 2/3 throttle really puts you into your seat!
