clear turn signal

OK, did I screw up and miss something?? I think I see some clubmans that have clear front turn signals without the yellow/orange reflectors. I know that you can order "white" turn signals, but I thought it meant that the BULBS were "white", not that they got rid of the orange material... this sucks if its true. Any ideas or suggestions to remove the ugly orangellow?

So, you have white turn signals, but the bulbs are "orangellow"? (love that word, btw. )

Well, I think it's a law that turn signals have to be orange, so yeah....there are clear bulbs that flash orange and that should fix your problem.

Here's the link (it has the types of bulbs) https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=103198

Hope that helps!

If this works, you should be able to see pretty clearly the difference. The yellow car has the yellow lenses in the headlights and side markers - which like great with the yellow. However, with certain colors, I don't think it looks as great - primarily Dark Silver, Pure Silver, and Pepper White. On my wife's car (the PW one), the lenses are clear (bulbs inside are amber, and are visible but not nearly as obvious) and I think it looks better that way.

Right. The "white" turn signals really just look white, but still flash orange. I know it's the law to have orange colored directionals in my state.

no, I dont have the white turn signals, I want to. like the pictures above me, I have the headlights like the yellow car, and I want to get rid of it and just have clear turn signals. So did I mess up and order the car wrong?

Well, unfortunately I think you did. If you had ordered the "White Turn Signals" option for the car, the lenses on the turn signals (front and back) would have been clear instead of "orangellow", and only the bulbs would have been colored orange.

So sorry.

In the configurator, it showed that only the rear turn signals were white when that option was selected. If I had known it was front and rear, I probably would have ordered this option.

I think this has been fixed when configuring 2009 models.

found a way to clear out the amber colored turn signal. Just need to take the light assembly off, open it up and "pop" off the amber cover. Read how to do it in the forums here and it sounds like it will be easy...

Can you post a link? I wonder if just removing it affects the visibility of the light. Surely, if it is removable someone must sell the clear lens.

There are bulbs out there to replace the signal bulbs that will look white/clear and light up orange, if you're looking for that type of application...check out sylvania.com..you can drill down and check out all the bulbs replacements..looks like you want bulb 2821 for the front side marker. Good luck.
