Does anyone have this? If so, what effect did it have on performance, and was it worth $2,195?! Your opinions could save my bank account. Im only 17 Thanks

I'll be able to tell you shortly as I just finished an engine up Friday. We will be bolting it into a car and testing it soon. Stay tuned for results

I can tell you a Jan Tune on an R50 is money well spent. I'm working on a full report to post up later this week after I run some more number once I find the bottom of this tank of gas, hint hint.

While I think the "Jesus Head" is a real piece of art in its field, I have doubts it may be the most indicated head for a N/A Cooper, due to the size of its larger valves. I think it may be too "track oriented", so to say, raising the torque and power bands too much in the rev range.

Of course, this is only my opinion, so I can easily be wrong.

Would this happen to be your 13:1 motor you hinted at recently?

we've yet to see data on the R50 app with this head, but, my R53 with RMW head, cam and exhaust has >190ft/lbs from 3500-6500. The curve is, well, flat.

Yeah, I have seen a couple graphs about R53s with that head. The fact is, the R53 is a supercharged engine, which brings in plenty of air to use valves this large. With an N/A engine things may be different.

Ok, well at least now i know the part is actually for an R50, and not for an R53 and just happened to be in the wrong category. Thanks Revolution Mini Works for keeping me updated so far. Good job.

Damn...so is there a future for us to see you ever do ITBs?
When RMW does something that someone else already has or hasn't...it still ends up night and day on the performance outcomes

I don't think that this head is specifically for the r50. It was designed for the r53, it is being tested on the r50 to see how it does. Time will tell. I'm pretty sure that if it doesn't do that well on the r50, jan will change some stuff around to make it better for the r50 app.

Haha you're probably right. But it is nice that they have something besides intakes and exhaust stuff now. If know they have the cams and software too, but it would be nice if more manufacturers made say, a turbo or supercharger kit for justacooper. The only turbo kit i have found is made by turbo specialties, but i'm having a hard time finding specs on them.....oh well.

we will have a Rotrex kit for this when I can find some time

problem is: you will need the Getrag tranny to hold it

I've been wondering what a cam/head/header would pull on a justacoopa.

Cool....so the CVT wont hold it? That transmission is too big anyway.

What about compression and internals? That R50 engine is damn near 10.25:1. Or are we talking low amounts of boost here? Now I'm interested.

Fail.

based on the stock rods of the cooper maybe 6psi

I would feel a whole lot better on a built Cooper engine

+1 on the comfort factor of a built motor. Even 6PSI would wake an R50 up quite a bit, I'm sure.

stealth would be to build a 1.8L stroker, 6 speed tranny and 3084 Rotrex and knock down 300whp+

And fit it all under that flat Cooper hood. Maybe hide the intercooler or paint it black. Make it nice and quiet down low.
