Well once again the man is at it! Figured we needed the old unofficial / official #'s and Mods thread. Post up here after your tune, or if you just want to talk about AWSOME. Looks like it will be another Hot one on the east side!

Friday forecast: High of 90* and 75% humidity! 30% chance of R word.

Saturday forecast: High of 90* (again) and 78% humidity! Yikes! 30% R word again. (feels like 92*'s of sticky)

I am in the hot and sticky afternoon time slot on Saturday. (looking foward to it! )

so post up, or PM me and ill do it for ya. I will have pix and video of the Saturday tunes. (unless im toolin on cars all morning) We will see............

I have no interior in my car right now, or a back seat....I have a lot of work to do when i get home from work today, or I'm in for a noisy 5 hour trip to NC.

...not to mention those sexy black rotors! I hear they're good for an extra 5 mpg and 10 hp!

All I can say is W...O...W! All the hype is actually fact.

We had a run that was headed for the holy grail 200hp, but rolling lug nuts on the dyno caused an abort and then heat soak took over. I'll take the increase of TQ across the band over a benchracing benchmark any day!

The increased rev limiter is possibly my favorite change, although the smooth power band is a close second, the thing pulls all the way there, now from the low end, too! (I drive one gear lower than most, & the rev limiter is my shift light, so my low end is higher than most.)

Oh yeah, the numbers, sorry. I have the standard Holy Trinity: M7 16%, Helix CAI, and Invidia exhaust and we threw some used JCW 380s just prior on my May '06 S, with stock plugs.

HP 187.4 (not bad!)
HP 196.8 (they stole my 200 I tell you, it's there with cooler temps ;-0)

TQ 176 (again, not bad and TQ is KING! Know that)
TQ 179.8 (not high, but wwwiiidddee which is just as valuable

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 2308x1618 and weights 218KB.

Finally, I now have the panache of an RMW / Jan tune to add to my meager list of mod's! ;-) I just wish he would have left the unsafe but dramatically better tune on there--okay, not really...

Just got back to charleston, having left with a nice 250hp pull and about 208ft lbs, cars feeling great, small exhaust leak etc. Whats next? 300? Who knows.

I think i am probably the only person to ever lose HP with a tune, lol. But the loss of 1hp on the very top end was a very worthwhile trade-off considering I got a 3-5hp increase throughout the powerband, with a much smoother line. and also got a lot of torque(which my car needs), 10ftlb in one spot.

Pre Tune
202.8 whp / 173.7 lbft

After Tune
201.5 whp / 179.8 lbft

Mods:
Alta 15% pulley
Alta CAI
Alta stealth Catback
NGK Colder Plugs

I will post the chart later, its much more impressive than just numbers.

No kidding. I hoped to get my car dyno'd but Helix's dyno is in pieces right now. That isn't good news for anyone wanting Jan to come back there either. Just have to wait!

Thats a personal question!

I was out of the shop when Snypr did his first run, when I came back, EVERYONE was standing around the screen. Quietly! when I walked over everyone was like, "did you see his first run? No, OMG, Look at this!!!"

haha, i was a little surprised by the number. Ive put the car on a dyno after each mod ive added, but always figured the dyno i used read a little high, but i guess not. I did a total of 8 pulls, once it got up past 200, it never got any lower.

As I said, the 1hp loss is worth the constant hp increase through the curve and the increase in torque....just wish we coulda figured out why it got rich at the very end...

Looks like SnYpR could have used some 380's! Nonetheless, great numbers.
