MP3 on USB stick question

My MINI was just born yesterday so it will be a few weeks before I meet her, but I have a question about USB stick use with it. When connected, how are the MP3s organized, by artist or by album? Also, is there a maximum file number? I bought and have loaded 26g on a 32g USB stick. Thanks in advance.

If it's the same as with an MP3 CD/DVD (I'm pre USB-port), it'll be alphabetically by filename.

As for file limits, there's people who have connected portable hard drives and you don't run up against a limit per-se, the system just slowly takes longer and longer to index the files before it will play. A 4GB DVD takes nearly two minutes for me.

So that means a 250 gig portable drive is out of the question.

That is pretty sweet the new MINIs have USB ports on them, I wish I had a port on mine.

OK, cool.

The reason I ask is I have a Compact Flash input in an Infiniti but they limit the file number to 512 which barely scratches the surface of my music files. There is no limit with iPod, only with compact flash so I wanted to make sure that MINI doesn't have a similar situation with USB sticks. Trying not to have to buy multiple iPods.

You can use the radio buttons to select listing the songs alphabetically, or by artist, album, or playlist.

you guys are aware that this is a 1st gen forum right? If your new mini isn't a convertible, this is probably the wrong place for you to ask.
