Rear Sway Bar - in your own words

I have an 07 Cooper. I, by choice, have 15" wheels. I invite feedback, opinions etc., regarding specific benifits achieved subsequent to installing a rear sway bar. I am also intrested in what brand and vendor you used. This would probably be my only suspension modification so input from folks who have done other major suspension mods is of lessor value. thanks

1. H&R 19 mm in the stiffest setting. Mine is 04 and came with 17 mm stock.
2. Big improvement in handling. Less body roll & higher speed on hard cornering.
3. Greatly reduced the understeer common to FWD and factory setting.
4. One of my best mods like a s/c reduction pulley & RMW tune.

Go for it & you'll love it.

Just be careful and gradual with your rear swaybar settings...

A giant rear bar on full stiff has been known to lead to spins and damaged cars on the first test drive.

19mm H-sport on middle setting for me. Made a huge difference in reducing understeer and making the car "rotate" better around corners.

thanks for the input on this. I particularly appreciate the caution about going too stiff. H&R and H-sport have been mentioned. Based on current response and my other reading I think that a 19mm bar will be sufficient for my "needs." I will start my shopping but, I am interested in your vendor recommendations.

thanks

I'm running an H-Sport 19mm sway bar set at full stiff. It's been on my car 3 years & 35,000 miles & has never made any noise. I'd say it is the biggest bang for the buck suspension mod that you can do.

You can get one from Aaron at Outmotoring....
