Homelink Problem... Help!!!

I picked up my Mini (Moondoggie) last night and I can't get the Homelink to work. I have read all the manuals and have done what they have said. Even when resetting it, after holding the 1st and 3rd buttons down for at least 25 seconds, the LED on the mirror never blinks. No matter what I do, I can't get the LED to blink at all. Yes, I have the car running.... Any ideas?

I had the same issue. You need to turn the car "ON". Press the start button until you see the light come on on the mirror. It only works when the car is "ON". Then follow the instructions.

Now, I just read you had the car running. Missed that. You may have a broken homelink. It does blink after 40 seconds.

Sounds like a trip to MoD is in order.

You might also want to get a list of compatible systems/models and verify that your door opener is supported.

Does the LED light when you push and hold one button? When I programmed mine, I didn't bother with resetting it.

try to view programming video on screen. it helps you to follow the steps easier than read the manual.

fyi, there are two different way to program depend on the brand. first of all check out your brands if it is compatible or not.

for example, what you just did "holding the 1st and 3rd buttons down for at least 25 seconds" is erasing all program like reset. this is not programming. it would be easy for you to view the video first before you follow.

the manual book is sucked! i like video better!

I'm not sure if this is the same with mini's, but with my mom's bmw I had to go under the motor of the garage (the plastic cover where the light bulb is at) and press a switch in there right after pushing the homelink buttons in the car.

After that everything worked like a charm
