Sidewalk Owners - Riddle Me This

I may have uncovered something...on the Mini website when you go to BUILD, under STEP 2 it clearly states that the Sidewalk Package will add "Our Sport and Premium Packages" and then when you look at the Sport Package it clearly says it includes Bonnet Stripes.

So why then did we all PAY for Bonnet stripes??????

866-ASK-MINI rep chuckled & told me to talk to the dealer...wish me luck!!!!

ps - I took some screen shots before they change it!!!

My dealer threw in the bonnet stripes. Shouldn't be that hard, but that was a month ago, and now they're going for sticker-plus-extra almost everywhere... especially the Sidewalks.

well okay, if we're doing a class action suit....i'm in!!!! kidding aside, if they charged you for install, they could at least refund that money, or give you credit towards some swag. my dealer was, for the most part, reasonable when i had complaints....and did some small things that kept me happy. BUT, if i didn't ask, i probably wouldn't have got!

I noticed this when we ordered ours, but didn't press it with the dealer. I went with the Sidewalk because I was planning to get the other packages anyways and the Sidewalk was cheaper as a bundle, so I still got a deal in the end.

the ma that i worked with pointed out some language that said something to the effect of "the stuff of these packages" and then listed what was actually included, and stripes were not included. . . and because they were not included it was going to be something like $400 for basic stripes. i am not getting stripes right away, i am planing on doing something more custom, as long as it is going to cost me.
by the way, did you notice that you have to pay for the color choices even though it said those were included, too?

Only the metallic paint options (like sparkling silver, our choice) were extra. The non-metallic ones (like pepper white) came with the package.

Hmm... never really thought about it since we installed our own custom stripes anyway... the factory stripes were never considered.

The stripes are just a decal that you can purchase from the parts department. I bet they are cheaper than $400. Just get some decal installation solution (soap like substance that allows you to move the decal around to get it just right and squeze out the air bubbles before it sticks for real).

^ better yet -- just go aftermarket.

However, I would be pissed too. The assertion that the Sidewalk includes the sports package is misleading and you shouldn't have to go out on your own to get them
