to paint or not to paint.

Ok well i have been wanting to get new wheels for a while.. but at the same time i really really like the webspokes.. so I'm wanting to paint them.... I'm thinking a semi gloss black. I dont want glossy black, but i dont want flat.... i also thought about maybe a dark charcoal... but i dont want it to be the color of my car....OH, and i just painted my calipers red... so i colored them in the picture.

with paint i'm sort of worried about flaking, scratching... but how much does powder coating cost??
here is a mock up i did...

and here is a side picture... before i did the roof

go or no?

The black looks sweet on your car. I would do it for sure.

I'm normally not a fan of black wheels. So when I say this, take it as a "go".

Those black wheels look every bit as good as the silver wheels on your MINI and they really make the red calipers really pop.

That looks awesome! If I were in your shoes I would definitely do it.

As far as powder coating, talk to OctaneGuy, he had his wheels powdercoated recently.

I went with a set of gunmetal 6 spokes on my DS R53 and I get a ton of compliments for the way they fit the car as they're dark enough for contrast, but not all the way to black. I'd post pics if the only camera I have wasn't a really cruddy one in my phone

If the car is a daily driver I would say paint NO , powdercoating YES. Depending on where you go you can get one color done between 50 and 75 per wheel. I had a set done almost 65,000 miles ago and they still look great.
