What dealer has shortest waiting list for a base Clubman?
Okay, I know everyone wants a Clubman today but my case is different. My current ride has given out and I can't wait until November to replace it.
Any ideas on which dealers have the shortest waiting lists for a base Clubman?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure where your from....but I just drove by Dreyer and Reinbold here in Indianapolis today and they had two or three sitting out in front. They must have just arrived as I haven't seen them before today (It's on my daily route). All appeared to be non-S Clubmans. It's likely that they're already sold, though, since there are maybe a total of 5 MINIs on the whole lot. It seems that business is good for MINI these days!
Some dealers order spec cars - by that I mean ones that don't have a buyer yet. They may not have one on the lot, but one in build process that may be quicker. However, you won't get to build your car and have to taken the options the dealer ordered. I know mine liked to add options and generally ordered well optioned cars. They had a few at one point, but were $3-5k more than how I ordered mine.
Your best bet is to check inventory, or try to have them see what they expect to be coming in that isn't spoken for. I would gather that over the last few months, more and more cars are spoken for prior to arriving at the dealership. There are some good stories in these forums about "lucky" folks who found just what they wanted.
Its worth asking about.

Let your fingers do the walking...as the old Yellow Pages ads used to say - call dealerships. If you can order far afield from where you live, you might do even better...though, of course, we have no idea where you live.
Many from the West coast seem to do better by ordering from the East... I know someone who lives in Las Vegas who ordered their Clubman from Minnesota.

It's all about production slots.
My Clubman went from order to delivery in just 31 days, which seems to be unusually fast. I did this by emailing dealers from Virginia to Massachusetts (I live in New Jersey) looking for someone with an available June slot for a Clubman (the slot is good for either type). I found a slot at a dealer about 60 miles away -- I consider myself lucky. I was willing to go to much further as I was in a similar bind and needed a car fast.
Test drive cars and check out options near where you live. Once you know exactly what you want, you can shop over the phone or internet.
By the time your car arrives, you'll be so excited to drive it, that a long drive home may be a welcomed diversion -- and a way to get to know your new 4 wheeled friend. That was my rationale, anyway.
By the way, I found that every Clubman listed in dealer inventory was actually already sold. I knew my dealer had received my car from VDC because I saw it listed in their inventory on MINIUSA.com! The only Clubman I have seen at a dealer that was available was a $37k, super tricked-out JCW. That was definitely not an option for me.
Good luck!

Asking is the only way to find out. The "available inventory" contains all vehicles to include those already sold. Our Clubman is still on the dealers "available inventory" and we took delivery on Saturday.
