R50/53 Just got my MCS - Driving Impression **dial up beware**
I just got my MCS today. The dealership was awesome. We walked into the showroom to see our MCS sitting inside with a sign saying congrats to my wife and I. We went over the car in the air conditioned showroom which was a very nice touch considering to blistering Florida heat outside. Enough of that... driving it
First of all. I own a 2600 lb. 320RWHP RX-7. It has a full racing suspension and has been dialed in by a reputable IT race car builder. I have gotten Fastest Time of the day with it at the local Autocross. I have bettered many Z-06's, Shelby Cobra Replica's, Vipers, Stalkers etc. with this RX-7. Its best 1/4 mile to date is 12.6 whith the car having boost issues and can easily hit 11's now. This is the car:
Engine:

Yes it has a 93 Twin Turbo motor with a HKS Single conversion using a Motec M-4 to run it.
Car with its Autocross tires:

My point of posting these pics and telling you about my car? Simple. The Mini is more fun to drive period. I have spent a lot of money on this monster of a car and even babying the mini during break in its more fun to toss around. I am amazed how well behaved it is. I took some twisty roads today with it and it just gits it.
I could not be happier with this car. I cannot wait until it is broken in and I can rev it out and actually floor it. Also looking foward to JCW kit in a few weeks.
This car has impressed me so much I cannot express it. It takes a lot to make me walk past my RX-7 and jump happily into another car. The Mini has done this.
A pic of my new love:

You cannot shut off the racer in you.
When I was ordering this Mini. I had already decided against the sunroof un-needed weight. There are only 2 options installed in this car. The Sport package option and the trip computer. The only other option it will get is the JCW Kit. My wife suspects and deep down already knows I will take this car to Autocross.
I am already looking at lightweight rims and Autocross compound tires for it. My wife is going to kill me if she finds out I am looking to spend more money.
My original plan was to buy this car drive it for 2-3 years and sell it for a Mazdaspeed RX-8. But..being as Mazda lied to its customers about the HP rating of the RX-8 and has fessed up but still is lying. I think I will keep my MCS.
BTW- Mazda claimed 247 HP
Revised to 238 last week.
Customers cars on dyno show 210!!
I decided to hang back and see how this unfolds.

Congrats on a sweet lil' red one!!!
I hope your MCS meets your expectations. Your wife should be worried. These cars are so much fun to mod. With your autocross experience, you should have no trouble staying in the top of your class in either car you bring to the track.
Enjoy,
Kim

Welcome and thanks for posting your experiences and background.
It's good to know that you like your MCS- enjoy yourself and please do share your insights
about what you learn along the way.
Most of us are really happy to hear from owners like yourself.
Cheers and Motor ON.
MCO has a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be uncovered.
