MINI factory bump shifter.

My 2004 MC has MINI's factory triptonic/agitonic/bump shifter...whatever you wanna call it transmission. There seems to be a delay in the time the shifter is bumped and the gear actually shifts. Anyone else have the same issue? If so, any solutions? Or is it just the 17 year old driver not shifting right?

If you are refering to the CVT yes there is a bit of a delay

I found take offs best by
1.) start in 1st
2.) Rev to 5500 RPM
3.) Quickly go from 1st to standard back to sport drive

if done correctly you get a pretty good kick in your pants up to about 55 MPH

also with the CVT dont floor the gas pedal you get the best performance from about 3/4's and then hover arrount 5500 RPM above that it bogs a bit
