Also told it's a 5-6 week wait for Clubman S, sound right?

Hello:

Last week, I was down in Phoenix and the dealer told me it would take 5-6 months for a clubman s, which seems to match up to what folks are stating here on the forum.

A dealer here in Chicago told me that if I order it now (with the options of my choice), I would get it by the 3rd week of August. Now that doesn't seem that bad. I also don't want to be caught in a situation were they tell me August, and I'm sitting around till Oct.

Does the 3rd week of August, seem a bit unreal?

It depends on the dealers "slots". They are able to reconfigure unsold cars already slated for production. Once the slots are gone for that month you get put at the end of the line. Mine took 4-1/2 weeks. Good luck

I gotta agree with rockhouse. I was told 5-6 weeks by the dealership in Orlando and being impatient I called all of the dealerships in the state and none came close. MINI gives dealerships an allotment (per month) and once they are gone, they are gone.

I'd say this.... If you want one, you're may want to order it asap.

The difference can be that much from dealer to dealer.

Two dealers in the metro Boston area (less than 30 mile apart), one has not slots until mid december and the other still has a slot for late august.

As has been said, it all depends on the slots that a particular dealer has in his allotment. I got very lucky with my dealer and it only took 25 days from my order to my delivery. My dealer had a slot for a lot-car which he used for my Clubman S. I called the day after I made my deposit to make a change in the options and production had already started.

It sounds like you may have a similar situation. If so, jump on it if you want the car!

Towson Mini sold all clubman thru 08 now. Waiting for 09s. I just got my order in several weeks ago and mine is due late July...woohoo!
I would not hesitate if you want one and find it. Selection is going fast.
Good luck with it!

Port of exit in the UK today, 07/08/08

This is what MINI wrote back to me after I asked them if mine was built. My HC Clubman was ordered on 5/30/08.

"Thanks for writing MINI. Cheers on your new MINI Cooper S Clubman, how exciting for you!

According to our records, your MINI completed production on 07/03/08 and arrived at the port of exit in the UK today, 07/08/08. Once your MINI leaves the port of exit in England, we no longer have access to your information. Your tracking information is then handed over to your MINI sales team. Depending where you live in the USA will determine which port of entry your MINI will arrive through. I would suggest contacting your Motoring Advisor, they will be happy to let you know when your MINI is planning to arrive at their location".
Does anyone know how to track it on the ship to the U.S ?

Cooperdude, go to the "Minis in General" section, then the "1st Gear" section, then click on the thread "How to Track Your MINI". All is revealed.

My Clubman S took exactly 60 days from day of order to dealership delivery. I suspect that may be extending due to heavy demand, deal allotments and production capabilities.

I ordered my Mini from the Scottsdale Dealer, so I believe its the same one hb vj mentioned, as far as I know Phoenix does not have a dealer, anyways I ordered mine June 3rd and delivery is suppose to be end of August, I didn't think 8 weeks could take so long!!!!!!!!!
