Ragtop Cleaners and Protectants
Ragtop Cleaners and Protectants
I noticed that DP no longer has the RaggTopp cleaner and protectant for fabric tops. Not that it was a joy to use but it has kept my top black for the last three years. Is their something better right now. Can't remember what DP is carrying right now but if I remember right it is the brush on variety (no?).

RaggTopp is an excellent choice for protecting tops, as is 303 Fabric Guard. We've performed several side-by-side durability tests for each (as well as the Renovo brand) and all of the above are just as durable as the other.
The main differences are in their applications. RaggTopp is an aerosol spray and thus is easy to achieve even coverage but also is difficult to manage the overspray. It is our best seller in top protectants, possibly due to the fact that it is endorsed and used by the major top manufacturer (Haartz).
Very recently (yes, thanks to the creativity of BlimeyC and MiniMaybee... wasn't it both of you??) we've found that 303 Fabric Guard is the upcoming favorite because you can spray it AND brush or wipe it on for the best of both application worlds. It comes in a traditional pump spray and therefore can also be opened up to pour into a bowl (such as tupperware, etc) and brushed or wiped on. We like to use those cheap little black foam brushes you can find in giant bins for less than a dollar at hardware stores to do the brush on portion of the task (all areas near glass or paint, as well as along all seams). Then, we spray the large center area with the pump spray to make quick work of of the center.
We normally carry, and will continue to carry in the future, all three of what we feel are the very best top brands: RaggTopp, 303, and Renovo. Unfortunately, we are just short on some of our inventory right now. Wherever you find any of these brands though, know that all three will perform excellently for you.

Thanks Heather. Hadn't seen the RaggTopp on your website when I checked is what prompted the question. Don't need it for a long while though as I just applied the last of what I have. Might try the Renovo though as the wind always seems to pick up right when I'm first spraying the protectant.
