British Car Show - Flat Rock, NC Sept 27th
There's a short thread about this over on Mini2. It says the show's from 10am to 3pm with a banquet in the evening. Does anyone have further information on it? Need to find some details.

I would consider the Mini a German Car for the most part... we could discuss that one all day long, but they make the $, not England. No different than Toyota building cars in South Carolina... it's still a japanese car.
There is no easy answer to that question. Are Jaguars and Aston Martins “American” now that the company is owned by Ford, or Saabs also "American" now that GM owns the company?
I’m inconsistent, though, because I believe the BMW Z3, Z4 and X5 are German, though my neighbors make them here in the Carolinas and I still consider my two Kentucky-built Toyotas to be Japanese.
But now that Chrysler is owned by a Daimler, does that make the PT Cruiser a fine German car? That's scary.
I sure there’s some logic in the whole mess, but I’ve yet to discover it. I suppose we call the MINI "British" only by convention, but most folks think that’s what it is.

Sorry, Moorlockx, but I've no idea how many showed up last year; somehow I missed it. There is a contact at the bottom of the Autumn in the Mountains web page, though.

Thanks LJ, I'll see if I can contact them and find out.
As far as the discussion of whether the car's British or German goes, I feel it's more based on the cars heritage than who's getting the money. It could be it's all a matter of perspective. I grew up in the heyday of British cars in the US. The younger forum members won't remember when seeing a Toyota or Datsun (Nissan) was almost as uncommon as seeing a MINI is today.
This was also a time when there was a distinct line between the national car manufacturers. There was no cross-breeding among countries. The process of making cars was a matter of national pride. The concept of a German owned company building a car in England, with the help of American and Brazilian companies would have been met with serious protests on all fronts. Because of this exposure, the British car heritage has been instilled deeply in me. This is the reason I'll always think of Jags, Aston's, Rolls, and MINI's as British cars...no matter who owns the company.
Now, I'll quit trying to hijack my own thread!

I did hear that all went well with my replacement. I'm going to try and get down to the McMeet on the 15th, see ya then.
