Penny Lane has been built and delivered to Midwestern Mini. She wasn't due until the end of this month, which was to coincide with my getting my investment back. The company I invested in won't have the funds to repay me until about September 4th.

This has been a long, drawn-out saga as a one-month, short-term investment changed into a year and a half of having no money, just credit cards, as the first venture capitalist involved turned out to be a scammer.

Greg at Midwestern reassured me the wait is no problem and they'll start taking bids on enclosed transport and putting on the bonnet stripes.

Oh the wait! the wait! Penny Lane is stuck and probably being ogled at by droolers... I'd fly out and drive her back myself but I'm rescuing two dogs and I shouldn't be away from them - they've had it tough.

Boy ... new car, new job, new dogs, and someday soon, new condo. If this is a mid-life crisis I must say it's going to be a fun one!

Well Cat,
You're getting closer and closer.
Meanwhile sounds like you are plenty busy with other things and could use some additional finance time anyway.
Penny Lane is being worked on and prepared so that is all in order.
Be sure to send pictures when you have time. Keep us posted.

Cat - Love the name Penny Lane. I had considered Eleanor Rigby briefly but my hubby didn't like it. Had to be somewhat masculine, so Monty it is (as in Full - heehee).

A bunch of us are waiting but for different reasons. It doesn't make it an easier, though. Just try to keep good thoughts and the day will be here soon.

Good for you doing dog rescues. I have 2 who were rescued - one as a puppy and the other as an adult who I picked up off a busy city street here. What a lover. Both are happy, spoiled, and always into mischief.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! :smile: Seems all I'm doing is waiting these days. Waiting waiting waiting. I'm starting to have the weirdest dreams about talking Minis LOL! Last night for instance I dreamt about a modded-out Mini telling me how wonderful and powerful it was and wouldn't it be fun if we were best friends.

 

It is an addiction!!!!!! I am hooked, cant crack it! I think they put a chemical in the car when they deliver it or something that is habit forming!!

 

An addiction! Yes! I just realized! It's my latest decade-defining addiction!

In the 70's I was addicted to all things 70's: pot, Rocky Horror Picture Show, British Invasion Rock/New Wave/even some Punk.
In the 80's I was addicted to night clubs and cocaine.
In the 90's I was addicted to everything that had to do with computers, the Internet, alternative healing and other New Agey stuff.

Guess I've found my milleneum addictions - the Mini and dogs.
