Siva welcoming party in Greenville!

LATEST UPDATE:

CONFIRMED Delivery Date of Friday, July 18, 2008, 4:00 PM

Siva has arrived and will go through the final prep in the morning. We are GO for 4:00PM tomorrow!

-----------------------------

Ok, so at the Greenville meet and eat, I was happy to see and talk to all of you, even though Liz and I have not officially joined up with the group. We really appreciated the opportunity, and I would like to take the time to announce the arrival of my new MINI, Siva!

According to John at Century, Siva is currently aboard the Caribbean Highway, en route to the US, with an arrival date in Charleston of July 8 (I wonder if he will think the fireworks he sees off the coast on the fourth are for him...), and an estimated delivery date of July 15 (possibly sooner).

I know some folks mentioned that they'd be happy to stop by so we could have a group meeting with the new addition, so right now plan for some time around July 15. I'll keep updating as I get more information! I'll send off the membership stuff this week.

YAY! We get to welcome in another new mini! (and bug some salesmen to boot)

So long as you aren't picking SIVA up during work hours I'll do whatever I can to be there.

Congrats on the new one! Say hey to John M up there for me!

We'll all have to celebrate the evening you pick SIVA up.
Impromptu dinner/meeting anyone?

John is my MA

I was expecting to pick up between 6-7, so it should be free and clear for everyone, and I'd be more than happy for a dinner party after (so long as all the other MINIs protect Siva from the plebeians.

John was my MA too, and predicted Jack's delivery date accurately.

I will be working in Clemson the 15-16th, should get to G'ville a little after 6pm. My "faster half" and I will stay tuned and try to make it to dinner with you. Great idea!

I appreciate all of the positive feedback everyone! Siva should be arriving in Charleston as I type, so I'm going to get with my bank and John tomorrow to get everything in order between them so there aren't any kinks when the MINI makes it to the dealer.

May be able to do some motoring this weekend!

David (cabriopilot) has recommended Sonic and Dillards for food and ice cream after the pickup. I think that'd be perfect for a group of MINIs

Sonic sounds like a great idea, which one? Are you referring to Dillards Farm and Ice Cream over in Greer?

I was expecting us to fill up the spots at Sonic and all get out and eat and drink... no carhops with trays to scratch the paint!

I would guess since I have never even heard of the place.

Thats the one!
I'm a believer in eating at some place where you can sit and admire your MINI
and everyone elses MINI while you eat your ice cream and as you apparently
know, Dillards has plenty of outdoor seating.

As for those that don't believe in eating in your MINI (like me) Sonic does have outdoor seating.

Hey ondrovic, I had two pizzas in my car yesterday. I even snagged a bite on the way home!

It's ok, you can faint.

Surely you didn't use the seat warmers to keep it warm did you?? If you did don't tell Richard

Haha, I don't like food in my car either. Just transport. Drinks have to have a screw top to be allowed!

Don't need no fancy seat warmers to keep a pizza warm in July. I will say this, it was rather liberating going over to the dark side!

True
But the seat warmers in Winter might be good for that if you've got a long way to drive

I use my passenger seat warmer when I load up 10 dozen hot Krispy Kremes to take to my coworkers in the Transylvania County courthouse!!! Works great!
