HOW'D YOU KNOW!?!?!?!??

Let's just say my boss already realizes the next couple of days will be my most unproductive of the year.

 

And then there are the days after you get it that you'll be sitting at work daydreaming about taking it for a ride. The drive to work will get longer, on lunch breaks you'll find yourself going over, and you'll be leaving work early so you can get into the driver seat just a little sooner.

Or maybe that's just what happened to me. It's a sickness and the only cure is more cowb, er mini!

 

Check is in hand from my bank, so now I just have to hope the VDC hurries up. I'll update if I hear anything about the date changing.

 

Mmm...ice cream!

I picked up Jack on a Monday, around 5:00. That day of work was the longest of my life!

I will do paperwork, but wait patiently for everyone to show up before starting Siva for the first time.

It could change again, John just checked earlier today and the system still says the MINI is at the VDC. I'm hoping that doesn't mean what I think it means, but we'll see. If it changes to sooner than Monday, he's going to give me as much of a heads up as possible so I can pass it along.

 

Awesome, I'll see if I can get off early to be down there around 5-5:30 instead of 6:30. We don't want you to wait too long, Siva might get mad.

 

I may not even make it til 5:30 or so, I've gotta see if someone will cover for me during new student orientation.... forgot about that appointment. Whoops.

Edit: Nevermind, it's on. I owe a coworker a dinner, but I'll be there at the appropriate time... hehe.

 

Just to clarify.... we are meeting at Century and then motoring up to Sonic/Ice Cream in Grrrr?

He probably wants to be the 1st one there when Siva arrives, but I hope I can get him back before then.

 

Sorry to hear Jack is under the weather! I hope Siva doesn't encounter the same issue... I'm like a worried overbearing parent.

Jack will probably see Siva, because John said that Siva will probably be hanging out back in the service lot until Monday when they do the dealer prep, then he'll sit in the showroom or service bay (to stay away from greedy non-MINI owners with fingerprints!) until I can come pick him up.

I really don't know what all I'm going to do this weekend!

Paul (Manager at Century) just told me that it's probably 50/50 on the Monday delivery because his report isn't even showing the vehicle AT the VDC yet.

"It could be there for all I know, I'm just telling you what I'm seeing, and it's still saying 'In Transit'".

Not a happy camper at the moment...

 

Well that sucks. I'm a little hesitant to be positive regarding Century and the way they treated me, (ordered through Hendrick because of it) but I do hope it works out for a Monday delivery!

Well for those that can make it to Century MINI for wbarnhill's MINI rollout party the drive will take us to Sonic Burgers on Wade Hampton
and then we will drive over to Dillard Farms in Greer for Ice Cream.
NOTE: Dillard Farms does not take credit cards it is cash transactions ONLY!
Both locations are designed for outdoor seating so that William can admire his new MINI while eating.

I'm still holding out hope for Monday... gonna call John tomorrow to ask for an update.

 

I called 4 times today to ask if they'd worked on him yet, just like an anxious parent!

It turns out that the shifter needs to be replaced because of a bad sensor, only a 5-day wait for the part. Picked him up this evening, did not see any LB/B MCS. Siva must be on his way from the VDC.

Ah, the Sonic in front of Office Depot in Taylors, our neck of the woods. Plenty of outdoor seating, I'm there about once a week for lunch with Jack parked for optimal viewing.

 

UPDATE:

Siva is currently lost in the system. John and Paul are both now saying that Siva is showing as "In Transit" meaning he hasn't even made it to the VDC. They're saying Denise at the VDC still hasn't responded to their calls either.

I hope I'll find out more on Monday. Sigh.

We can still do the outing or hold off for the actual delivery date, whatever everyone wants to do. I hate that the date is having to change, but no one was hoping more than I that Monday would've been it.

 

Well since the purpose of the outing is to welcome your new MINI then I'll wait till you actually get it.
Otherwise you'll have to ask for permission to drive "Her" MINI...

 

Exactly. I just hope some real information comes across Monday morning. This whole "We don't know" story is getting old.

Why don't you build a nice garage for your MINI and I bet by the time your done you'll have a nice new MINI to put in it.
