Header Queries

I think its fair to say that next on the list for my mods is a new header.

I have a magnaflow catback on my MC and i have been lookin at lots of different headers, but most are 2.5 inch. Is it an issue performance wise to get the piping going from 2.5 inch to 2.25 inch? What do you guys recommend?

You wouldnt reduce the diameter of the piping on the header itself. An exhaust shop can either flare the piping between the cat or weld in a reducer. It just depends if you are gonna run a cat cause I see the magnaflow runs a resonator....

The only reason i am not going to change header is because everything is designed for the Cooper but also fits the Cooper non S. In my opinion, the 2.5 inch diameter is too much for a Cooper!
Consider a custom build one !

2.5" is a perfect diameter. Especially coupled with a good muffler. I wouldnt go any bigger than that for loss of back pressure.

So you guys saying i should go for a custom build? I found some nice headers ,eg mini mania etc. I presume i could get it flared if need be.
