Navigation & Audio Dumb question...
Dumb question...
Sorry to ask this because I feell like a total idiot, I have the Hi-Fi stereo with nav and sirius. I got less than adequate manuals from the dealer, but how do I know if this car has the HD radio option in it??
Okay Stupid answer, Only kidding. There is never a stupid question just a question that has not been answered
Is there a HD Radio icon on the screen when you are selecting the input (i.e. tuner, cd, aux, usb etc.)
If it is not there then you can probably be sure it is not installed. if it is there does it work. You should also be able to ask your MA if it was ordered. If it was and is not working then have them fix it.
Also on the manuals most of Mini's manuals leave something to be desired. Even the main vehicle manual does not explain things well. I have found the best way to deal with it is to play with it.

A more definitive way would be to check the settings menu for the HD radio options:
Switching Digital Radio Reception On/Off
Onboard monitor, for operating principle refer to page 16.
Onboard monitor, for operating principle refer to page 16.
- Press the Home button
- Move the Mini joystick to highlight "Setup" and press the Mini joystick
- Select "Settings"
- Select "Audio"
- Change to the topmost field. Select "HD Radio"
- Select "Off"
Actually, the HD radio's interface is combined with the regular radio interface, so you won't see an additional input listed. You could try tuning to a station that has an HD broadcast, the stereo will automatically detect the HD signal and put a litte ((HD)) icon on the nav screen.

Here's a shot of how the input selection looks with the HD radio, when listening to an HD signal.
The only visual difference is the HD logo, and the displayed station name. In a couple seconds the station name gets replaced with RDS data.
