My MCS just left on a hook, off to the dealer to sort out an electrical problem. I had to disconnect the battery as the interior lights would not turn off and the door locks where stuck in the unlocked position and would not lock either manually, with the key or with the interior toggle switch. My guess is the circuit that activates in the event of an accident that unlocks both doors and deck lid and turns on the interior lights has activated. I can hear the locking mechanism in the gas filler clicking and feel it twitching. The good news is I still have another car to drive and my September production Silver Gray with black leather BMW M3 coupe with SMG II, premium and cold weather packs, PDC, Navigation, width adjust seats with lumbar, aluminum trim, xenon, 19” forged and polished alloys and HK sound production date changed from September 19th to the 12th . This MCS has been one problem after another, and I have not had windshield problems, stumble or hard start or coolant bottle leak, yet. And I don’t plan on keeping it long enough to find out. October can’t get here soon enough for me!

Ryan, my conservative friend, you will need to make a trip down to Julian after I take delivery of the M3 and give the SMG tranny a try!

Jerrygee,

Becareful with your M3. I picked up my new Laguna Seca Blue 6 speed M3 in February and it was stolen two weeks ago. I know quite a few people who have had their E46 M3's stolen. Now I'm getting an MCS. I need a car I can park somewhere and not have it stolen.

Thanks for the heads up, I will try and keep on eye on it!

I know you will like the way the MCS drives, but you may be a little disappointed with power after just coming out of a M3, but the overall package with the supercharger, 6 speed, front wheel drive, taut suspension, great brakes and the wheels located on the corners of the car is a surefire recipe for fun-fun-fun. The MCS is one of the most fun cars I have ever had, and I have been driving BMW’s since 1971 starting with a ’67 1602 and including two E30 M3’s, two E36 M3’s (one coupe and one cabriolet), and a E39 M5 just to name a few.

Good luck with your MCS, I hope you get a good one.

FYI-I know as much today about the MCS as I did on Thursday. I haven't heard a word on the condition of the car from the dealer plus the production date on the M3 got bumped back to the 19th. Oh well, life is still good!

Jerry
