My Loss is another Driver's Gain

So, after finding out that the English Oak interior trim does actually contain wood, I decided to modify my build to include it on Wilbur Bud's interior surfaces. After playing tag for a few days, my MA, Amos, catches up with me on the phone. He tells me that it shouldn't be a problem to change, as we are still 3 weeks from build week, but it isn't 100% sure. I am not too worried about it - it isn't like I am asking to change from a clubman to a convertible.

Anyway, he goes to enter the change order and is talking over the keystrokes as he is working on the computer, and he says, "Ok I have your file and your Order Number is 68XXXXX, Week 27 Clubman...." This confused me, as my Order Number is 67XXXXX (yes I do know it by heart). So Amos does his thing and I ask him if that was my order number he just used. He says it is, and I say, that's odd, because I thought my order number was 67XXXXX. He says, no, 68XXXXX is what is in the file. So I say, do me a favor, put 67XXXXX into the system. He does, and it gets really quiet. Then he says, "Dude! You must be really rich - you're getting 2 Clubmen!"

He wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but somehow I ended up with two orders in the system! Now I am really glad I wanted to make a change to my Wilbur Bud. We got the change straightened out on the Order Number that I had, and this works out well for one of his other clubman customers - that person will take the second order and will have about a month shorter wait than me!

As you brought this mistake up to the MA he should have put you as the first one on the list to get one. I'd ask him about this. Unless the other person did actually get their order in first.

I'm going to make a wild guess that the Clubman with the earlier delivery was already past the point of making changes to the build order.

They are both week 28. My point is that the other guy doesn't have to sit on his hands waiting since May 21 - I already did that first month for him.

Mini of West Chester

PhillGreen,

did you order from Mini of West Chester?

If so I ordered a clubman from there on May 24. I just got confirmation that it should go into production the first week of July. Does this match up with your build week?

If you didnt order from there....sorry
