Vehicle Distribution Centers

Does any one know to which distribution center cars going to Florida are shipped to. I now that my recently ordered Clubman is in a ship with a final destination of Brunswick, Ga.

Thanks

It should be going to the distribution center in Greer, SC.

Congrats on your Clubman's impending arrival - hope your wait isn't much longer!

There is a VDC in Brunswick. So if your vehicle is going into Brunswick then it will be at that VDC... There has been some opportunities with that VDC.

Right now I wish there wasn't a VDC in Brunswick. Let's say they have a steep learning curve getting the MINIs out to the dealerships.

More VDC questions

Thanks to all of you for the information. I can live with one week at the VDC but im curious about why are they slower that other centers. Is it because of volume of cars?. Also what exactly takes place at the VDC. I now that they install accessories and fix travel damage as well as complete emission testing but that should not take a week if you dont have damage or accessories to intall. Just my humble oppinion.

Thanks

What should happen and what does happen are two completely different things.

Joep has been through hell waiting for his Elphie. It's cruel and unusual punishment!

I think it is primarily becuase Brunswick is new. It took me two weeks to get through and they didn't have to add anything or fix anything on my car. They just weren't effecient in how they moved cars around and put mine behind and never worked their way to it until I raised a stink with my sales manager. Kinda like an elevator mentality, First in and Last Out.

Lady G... my ears were burning... I think my wait was 17ish days to get my car to the dealership from the Brunswick VDC. Lady G has experienced my frustration with the VDC and it wasn't pretty. Luckily I'll be driving my car tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Well Jon they got "better" it took 17 days to add driving lights and sport stripes and ship it 200ish miles...

So... the real question is does driving your car smooth out the pain of waiting?

VDC getting better

They must be getting better. My car arrive at the VDC last Wednesday and on Saturday morning i recieved a call from my MA indicating that the car arrived at the dealer that morning. I was surprised since owners lounge still shows the car at the VDC but happy never the less.

I was fortunate getting mine from Brunswick to Ferman MINI Palm Harbor - only took 5 days from arrival to keys in mitts.

The Don Juan just arrived in Brunswick yesterday so I am hoping that it wont take that long for my Mini to arrive in Miami.

Back in october mine went through Brunswick and it only took a few days (less than half a week). But I didn't really have anything to be installed (or repaired from shipping ) so I guess that could be it.

Hey rexicon did your clubman have any work done at VDC? I think that's where the bottleneck occurred. They either lacked inventory or knowledge, or efficiency. But to get yours in 5 is both great and leads me to believe that your clubman left VDC stock from the factory.

It took Brunswick over two weeks because they were out of sport stripes! They would not release it to the dealer for them to do it either. They suck. And then when the car showed up one of the stripes on the bonnet was damaged and will be replaced next week at the dealer. Two hour drive.

Spot on - these are my options:

MFSW
HiFi
Bluetooth/iPod
Armrest
HID's
Automatic

That's it - the factory "forgot" to install the armrest so it was done at the dealer. You'd think the VDC would have spotted it seeing as it was on the window sticker - but having heard all the horror stories about Brunswick I'm glad they didn't
