triangle with an exclamation in it.

Tonight I noticed a little triangle with an exclamation point in it in the tach display area. It is right in between the odometer and the trip meter. The manual just states " the vehicle may start the next time without the brake depressed" . I don't get it. I will say though I am down to two red candy corns on the fuel gauge. I wonder if it is another way to let me know i need fuel?

If that little exclamation point in a triangle is near the odometer, I think it means that your Mini is hungry. In my 07 MCS when there are 2 red ticks left on the fuel gauge it puts a silhouette of a gas pump on the tachometer display screen and bongs at me. After that, there is a little exclamation point inside of a triangle near the odometer. Go feed the poor thing, it's probably starving!

The manual refers to the large ! in the center display. The small ! between the trip and odo only comes on when there is another indicator light on(gas,CEL,service overdue etc.)

That does sound like it just needs gas. Mine will normally warn me a couple of times that I'm low on gas, then the indicator will go away. But if ignored and I get too low, it will stay on as if to say "Go get some gas dummy!"
