What are you doing Sept 5-7, 2008?

So if any of you subscribe to MC2, you must now be aware of MMMT, hosted by Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts. This is a 3 day International event to be staged on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. This event should be one of the largest Mini-MINI events in the US in 2008, possibly eclipsing even MTTS in Los Angeles.

We have participants registered from throughout United States, Canada, Great Britain, Italy, and Japan with interested possible participants from China, Australia, and New Zealand. Group packages for hotel accommodations have been arranged, but since this is not a hotel based event, feel free to get more affordable rooms using online hotel reservation sites.

Cars can be left on Treasure Island overnight so that you can avoid costly parking at San Francisco Hotels. 24 hour security will be provided. Busses are available on a regular schedule from Treasure Island to downtown San Francisco. There are multiple runs planned throughout the weekend, on-site vendors, classic/rare car display in our Main Pavilion Tent, and a BBQ catered banquet Saturday night with a live Beatles Tribute band playing until 10pm Saturday night on the grassy field with the San Francisco skyline as a back drop. Vendor’s booths will be open until 10pm each night.

You won't want to miss this event! Hotel rooms will get difficult to get as we approach September, so make hotel reservations soon. Our arranged group rates are only available until July 5th... then you will be on your own finding sleeping accommodations.

For more information and registration form visit our dedicated website or read the latest copy of MC2 magazine.

what better way to spend it then with 750 of your closest MINI friends and two live concerts and possibly a Giants game...

There is no baseball stadium in the country like the new AT&T Stadium. It's asolutely beautiful!

We have some added events that you may be interested in registering for:

Friday night Giants Game - Giants vs Pirates
Saturday Winery Tour - Andretti Winery

Andretti Winery founded in 1996 by Mario Andretti and his longtime friend Joe Antoni (former CEO and chairman of Kmart Corporation), is dedicated to celebrating the Italian lifestyle, complete with the finest wines created anywhere in the world.

I have set up a new web page to make online payments easier using PayPal or to download registration forms and event brochures and run maps as they are developed.

more events will be posted as they are developed

The MMMT sounds great, but you gotta be kidding with the AT&T stadium comment?? I mean, c'mon.. Dodgers stadium's retro 70's concrete style CLEARLY beats out the AT&T stadium! (Especially if you are a rabid Dodgers fan watching the Giants get beaten!) (OOPS!, Did I say that out loud?)

I am ... if I make it back safely from the MTTS gathering in Los Angeles.

We may have three or four others from the Roseburg area heading down to San Francisco, at least one of whom is also a PDX member. Two of us are booked in the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville, which is one of the host hotels.
