6-8 weeks - yes - provided that you don't have a lot of dealer-added options. Many dealers are happy to have you pick up the car and get the goodies added later, some (or some customers) prefer to wait until its all done before pick up.

It took 2 days for the factory to build my car and another week and a 1/2 to get on the boat. once on the boat it took 5-6weeks to get to port and another week to get to my dealer. I'm on the west coast.

Conception to Delivery

This is my story on my Clubman:
Timeline:
25 Jan 2008 Ordered.
Feb 11 Website said "Awaiting Transport".
Feb 11 Ask-Mini said that Feb 9 it completed production and it was "past port of exit" meaning it has left the Factory.
Feb 12 Ask Mini said it finished Production Feb 8th, Feb 9th to carrier, 12th waiting to board ship.
Feb 15 the WW site finally showed it on the search page.
WW said they Received at terminal Feb 11
WW said they Booked it on the Faust Feb 11
its is scheduled to unload Charleston SC Feb 28
Because of a storm the ship was in NY for 2 days
March 5th The Dealer Recieved it.
I picked it it 2 days later.
It now has 1800 miles on it.
I'm still greatly satisfied......

peterjacob, you profile doesn't say where you live.
As mentioned, West Coasties wait longer, due to the ship heading to CA.

After build, the Mini has to go to Southhampton and wait for its ship.
Mine waited a week.
If East Coast or Midwest, an optimist would hope 6 WEEKS after build week, without any work stopages, strikes, U-boats, etc.

Peter, you'll have it within a week of the ship docking.
Contact your Sales Dude to request the ship info.
I'd guess you could contact them by 7/5. It may be on a ship then, or it may be waiting for a ship.

W&W lets you track ships online, while K-Line lets you know the scheduled arrival date. 11 day trip from Southhampton.

Enjoy the delayed updates on MiniUSA/Owners Lounge. Love that music!

That depends - Halifax is the first stop for some of the W&W ships - only adds a day.

My dealer said it would take about 7 weeks. It was seven weeks to the minute! I was amazed how accurate they were. I also ordered a ton of options and extras so I am not so sure that delays anything. Look for that gooey "Cosmoline" lubricant under the bonnet. I still have some oozing out. No big deal, just clean it up so it does not sit on the paint for long.

Took me 2 months nearly to the day (I pick mine up tomorrow). It also has a lot do do with dealer allocations. And as some said, where you are.

So it can be highly variable...

My Clubman only took about a month from order to delivery (ordered 2/15, delivered 3/18), but I was lucky enough to catch a boat only three days after it was built. It was about a week from Southampton to NY, and then a week to get to the dealer.
