Cat Pee in my Clubman :(

I have had my new clubman for a bit over a month now and love everything about it. Unfortunately, this morning my new car smell was diluted with cat pee! On the way to the vet my cat got startled and peed in his carrying bag... Luckily the bag took the brunt... but the passenger seat definitely got hit with a little.

I have the leatherette seats so hopefully none seeped into the cushion but, now after trying to clean and disinfect there is still a lingering smell.

Anybody have any suggestions for cleaning and/or de-smelling?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

White vinegar works....at least on carpet.

Sorry that happened. We have 2 kittens...and as much as I love them, I'd be tempted to ring their necks if they pee'd in my MINI.

We will know him by his stack of air-fresheners hanging from the mirror.....

Just kidding. Try some of the armor all for interiors, or one of the soaps for interiors- and ensure it's for leatherette before you use it!

Wouldn't have these issue if they would just sort out the roof rack. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2007/0...g-riding-high/

I've heard the Nature's Miracle stuff works pretty well. You can also check any pet store. They carry tons of products to get rid of pet odors.

It's called Nature's Miracle, you can get it at local pet places. With pee you have to get enzimes to kill the stain or it will still be there even it it looks clean. Black lights can help with locating stains.

Wonder if that will work for passengers that pee themselves during aggressive on-ramp accelerations?

Something like Nature's Miracle or another enzyme based product is your only hope. I guess you will have to spray it on & let it sink down through the leatherette just like the cat pee did. Just washing will not help as water seems to reactivate a cat pee smell. I have never gotten anything else to work on cat pee on the carpet except an enzyme based product. Sometimes you can never get rid of the smell of cat pee in something no matter what you do & the only option is to replace it

yeah, but black light can be REALLY scary...tells you things you REALLY don't wanna know... And it's like men & hammers. "I have a hammer! I can do EVERYTHING with it! That nail bothering you? I can take care of it... I can get that computer to work for ya - I have a hammer!" You'll want to scan everything with the black light!

I should have pulled out the light before I bought my house...downstairs carpet looked like a litter box with the light out and the black light on....yummy.

anybody heard of simple solution? Thats what the pet store down the street carries. Is that along the same lines as Nature's Miracle?

Hit the pet store and ask which product to use.
Some grizzly bear pee would cover the smell and stop your cat from peeing in your Clubman.

Aw that stinks!!! There are several products out there that work really well - some are sold only at a Vet's office. The other is what others have said - Natures Miracle.

Just an FYI Do you know why the enzymes work when other measures do not? The enzymes are actually bacteria that eat the odor causing particles in cat urine. The enzymes are normally activated by water. Here is a link to another enzyme product, Mistermax, that has a nice pdf on how to treat different surfaces.

OK that's the end of the school lesson for today. Now run along

Works indoor and out! We use it all the time with our cat and dog (though the cat is better behaved!)

We used the Natures Miracle on a recliner when the old man kitty, Radar, forgot where he was. We did leave it in the garage and soaked it with the stuff over several weeks to make sure all of the urine was gone.
