Just got off the phone with someone in Illinois who seems very interested in my old Passat. He was really excited that it was a GLX wagon with the 5-speed (kind of rare).

Fingers crossed he buys it so I can go rescue my MINI from the dealership.

Please... please... please...

It's funny but those vr6 5 speed wagons do have quite an underground following. Put that baby on autotrader and maybe even ebay.A few years back one of my friends at work went halfway cross country to buy one of those.

Hey Jerseygirl
It would be great if you sold your car. I have had my M3 for sell for weeks and not one call. Used car market is soft right now. Anyway, hope you sell your Passat.

Yeah, Passats are a dime a dozen on the roads now (at least around here) but back when they first came over in the early 90's they didn't sell many, let alone many wagons. There are some pretty loyal followers of the old B3 Passats, the 5-speed wagons especially.

I'll miss it but I'm sure a shiny new MINI will help me forget.

Can't believe you haven't had a call! I debated selling my M3 instead because I figured I'd have an easier time selling it instead of the Passat.

Shouldn't get my hopes up though, there's no cashier's check in my hand yet.

Yeah, it could all work out. Actually Robyn I'm kind of wondering if I'll be missing out on something by just picking the one up at the dealership. I'm sure the wait's no fun, but it would be kind of neat to be able to follow the progress of your car through production and shipping.

Keep with it!! It took me almost two months to sell the Ferrari. I picked up the Mini on Saturday and the Ferrari left today! It was sad to see the Ferrari go but the Mini is much happier being in it's place in the garage!

P.S. I love the Mini!! It was well worth the work and persistence.

Wow, folks selling M3's and Ferraris in order to get one of these little pipsqueaks- pretty high praise, I'd say. Wonder how many folks are doing the same for WRX's, Evo's, GTI's, and RSX's

OK, maybe I'm jumping the gun and maybe I'm crazy but you only live once so what the heck.

I went down tonight and put down a deposit on my little IB/W MCS. Nittany will now be pulled from the floor and safely tucked away until I go back to complete the deal after the Passat is gone.

Good for you!!!

I'm waiting for my IB/W MINI to come.

Only it's just a Cooper. And a CVT at that.

I'm one of the "special" children of the MINI world

Have fun!!!

I just put a deposit on an MCS. I didn't sell my 2003 M3, its was stolen. It does say a lot that I love Mini's. My otther car is a 2002 Z06 vette. I like cars that are fun to drive.

You're on your way, JGirl! I actually looked long and hard at the VW's before I got the hots for the Minis. Are you good at smiling? 'Cause your gonna be wearing out those smile muscles when you get that Mini!

I'm already practicing. I've got a picture of an IB/W MCS on my desktop. I grin every time I see it.

Got a nibble? Great.

Now practice that great MINI smile out on your "nibbler". Charm him into completing the sale!
Hex him, use voodoo, do whatever you need to.

But don't tell him you are getting a MINI or he will get ideas! It's hard to hide the obvious.

Good luck.
