air filter Question

i was wondering...it i take a cone air filter, remove the entire are box (mc not s) and just attach it to the stock air hose...any problems? i know with a smooth hose and such it would work better but $30 VS $200....

From: Washington. No, the other one.
It works, and Home Depot has plumbing stuff to make the hookup easy. Then you've got an HAI (hot air intake)- sucking hot air from the engine compartment rather than cold air from the front of the car.
According to Honda's F1 testing, hot air helps increase fuel economy, whereas cold air increases power (denser fuel charge). Lots of posts out there on these subjects.
