Just bought a 2003 MCS, got a question...

I just received the title from the used car dealership, noticed that it was originally owned and title to "Financial Services Vehicle Trust" for its first 13,500 miles. After looking them up online it looks like that is a division of BMW. Why would BMW own and operate this MINI for 13,500 miles? I'm thinking it might be a company or show car? Kind of weird, but I cant wait to go pick it up, hopefully this week sometime. At least from the pictures its an outstandingly clean car, and the vehicle check(CarFax) came out good as well. It will definitely save me some gas money, as the 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a HEMI in it was killing me!

I may have answered my own question, its probably a lease, since the owner would be BMW.

Could be a lease. Some Mini owners just have it as a third fun car and may only drive it in fair weather. I only drive mine 6 or so months a year and store it in the winter.
It could also be a loaner for the service department, but those usually turn over every year or two and not four or five.
FWIW I turned in a Honda Accord lease after having it for 36 months and the car had 19,000 miles on it. It was my wifes car and she worked close to home and we just didn't drive it.

Great find for you! I'd take it and get an oil change right away and perhaps take it to your local mini dealership and ask the mechanic to just listen to the motor at idle. More than not you have nothing to worry about.

Enjoy
