Man, I'm jealous, and I own an S. I would have been eyeballing those from the start if they were offered here.

Wow, I had never heard of a JCW Cooper before! With what kind of modifications do they increase the horsepower of the Cooper?

Really cause there are quite a few "COOPER's" with JCW Body Kit on around my area. I have started using the "justacooper" thing since reading a few threads on here, i think its brilliant.

Its a shame the insurane for the "COOPER S" is so high as i would have one in a heart beat if it wasn't. Im glad you ike it. Unfortunately for me yours would still beat mine in a race. Have you thought about getting the JCW Body fitted to your "S"?

Its not factory. It has had the modifications made to it.
It has:
Uprated foam air filter
Uprated air intake tubes. (Without the resornator holes)
Uprated exhaust system with original trim. (the JCW trim somehow did not fit and i was not willing to cut the larger diameter part of the exhaust to see if it would fit that way)
Awaiting ECU remap. (should bring it up a fair bit / 145-150bhp.

Should be fun once its finished. Would like to see how it goes against an S then .

Wow! That's one of the hottest looking "just a cooper" I've ever seen. The only reason I say one of the hottest, is UK's Modern Mini magazine always has some terrific looking coopers every month. That's a fantastic magazine.

One question, why are sunroofs not as popular in the UK?

Gorgeous car! Love everything about it !

My MC is on order and I've been looking around for performance upgrades to increase BHP. But 95% of everything I see, aside from exhaust, is all handling related. Looks like you got it pretty high. What did you do to it to get it up there?

Whether that will be the case i am still to find out but if its anything like the R53 COOPER once remmaped it probably will see bhp levels like that, considering the R53 gained around 20bhp just from the ECU map.

Well, maybe the insurance agents over here are insane, but my S was only 4$ a month more for insurance than my previous vehicle, a pickup. I have heard about the outrageous insurance in England. The selection of cars over there must be some compensation.

I haven't thought about the body kit, but if I decide to forsake G stock, I will either be getting the JCW wing or the Challenge car wing. I scrape the front rubber air dam enough on the roads here as it is.

I was thinking your car had a newer version of the normally aspirated JCW kit that was offered for the R50. Since I posted I have looked around, and can't find any evidence it exists for the non-S R56. Am I wrong in now thinking it doesn't exist? More horsepower than a regular Cooper without the added complexity of the turbo engine would be a nice choice to have.

Sniff, SOBB! GOD do I miss MIB! Astro Black Monotone. This thread reminds me of it SO MUCH!

Something I had to learn and understand is that the MINI Cooper is the HOT ROD version of the MINI One. The MCS is another beastie all together.

Some day Paddy will make it all better.

I'm pretty sure I remember than there was a JCW version of the original Cooper not long after it was first released, but I could be wrong.

My insurance at the moment is £1400 for my "COOPER" and they are asking for £3000 for a "COOPER S" .

No the JCW does not yet exist but these are the parts they will be using to do so (if they decide whether to do it at-all).

I should maybe move the the U.S then as at-least id be the only one with one.

I mean don't get me wrong there aren't alot of "COOPER's" that have the JCW Kit on in England. Theres only one other in my town and only a handful of others i have ever seen elswhere so still very hard to come by.
