Details about accomodations at the GWR 500

Hello again everyone,

Here are some details that have been hammered out about accommodations at the Ramada Inn in Williamsburg.

The Ramada Inn Williamsburg is holding a block of 50 rooms at the special rate of $49 per night. You must make reservations before July 21, 2008 to get that rate! I would advise making reservations sooner rather than later. Their phone number is 757 565-1111 and they are located at 6493 Richmond Rd in Williamsburg Virginia. If you have any problems with reservations, please ask to speak to Nick at the Ramada Inn. He is the contact person at the Ramada Inn for this event.

FYI: The Ramada Inn Williamsburg is 14.6 miles from the Rockahock Campgrounds where the event is being held. It is the closest hotel/motel to the campground.

Click here for Mapquest directions from the Ramada Inn to Rockahock Campgrounds.

No problem. I noticed that most of those reviews were a year old. I don't think that Ramada, after having read those reviews, would stand for a hotel under their marquee being in bad condition for very long.

I'm still waiting for word from my club's president. He handled that aspect of the event.

Our club president emailed me today, he said that it looked fine to him but he didn't go into any of the rooms. The lobby and office(s) he went into were neat and orderly.

Wyndham Governers Green

If the Ramada Inn Williamsburg is booked up, the Wyndham Governers Green may have suites (sleeps 4-8ppl, 1bdrm/2bdrm w/ sleeper sofa), its only 4 miles from the hotel.
if I decide to come to GWRA and rsvp, I may reserve a room here (on points) as I've been a timeshare owner since they were a Fairfield Resort.

Anything new about where to get hotel rooms? Does anyone know if there are rooms still available at the Ramada? I still haven't reserved a room yet. Any updated info would be awesome!

I haven't heard one way or the other about the Ramada but they should still have rooms available this far in advance.

Is there a list of participants that are planning/registered to go? We're not MOTORING yet...but will soon and are trying to build our schedule of events aside from the events I am already signed up for in the Impala SS and DeLorean communities.

Hi Luck219,

The event is going to run from 9am until midnight Saturday. It might be worth your while to plan on staying Saturday night. The Ramada Inn at the link in the first post in this thread has the contact information.

Let's see how many people read this thread... hehee There will be a bunch of announcements in the next two or three days regarding the event! Stay tuned! Same MINI time, same MINI channel!

We should somehow make a master RSVP list that way we have an idea of how many MINI's we're expecting. I know a few people from DCMM will be there.

...and thanks for the info!

I'll throw up a thread and ask the mods to sticky it for attendees. Our webmaster is working on a registration script but due to time constraints we might have to go with the good ol' paper and pen method.

Would it be possible to make an RSVP clickable list for those that are going? I know DCMM uses them for events and i'm sure lots of others do too, i'm just not sure how to make them.

Ok, so i know i'm being a message board hog tonight, but i have questions!

I cant be the only one thinking this, but the reviews that the Ramada on Richmond Rd received were pretty sucky. Has anyone else found other nearby hotels that got better reviews at a reasonable price??? I dont want to stay in a crappy hotel. Someone, gimme some feedback please!

I'm not sure how to make a clickable RSVP list. :( Our club president went to the Ramada to sign paperwork and said that the place looked neat and orderly to him. I read those reviews too after someone else mentioned that they weren't very good. I can't imagine that the Ramada chain would let something like that stand for very long.

You can reserve a Yurt or a Cabin at Rockahock for around the same price I believe. It has also been said that if you are really adventurous you can rent a RV spot at Rockahock and pitch a tent on it. That's not my cup o'tea but I understand that some folks like to do that sort of thing. hehee
