Anyone know where I can get these from a US vendor? I'd really like to avoid the potential trouble of currency exchange and international shipping.

 

I just checked availability on that retrofit kit, part number 63 12 0 145 835, there are 21 in the Ontario(California) PDC and 13 in the Jacksonville(FL? or MS?) PDC, as of the date and time of this post.
It is listed as NLA or No Longer Available, but if ordered by your dealer they should ship it.

Through TMS (link above) would be quicker, but you could get it also through www.ctd-germany.com and wait a little longer, but pay much less.

When I got mine, it took about 3 weeks for me to get them, but payment was exactly $217, which included the lights, the chrome bulbs, and shipping. All for less than what TMS is asking for the lights themselves...

Just giving another choice there.

And they also have the prices in $ in their websites, and description in English if you just click on the flag at the bottom-right of the screen.

yea well you figure $40-60 bucks for a new set of tail lights that do exactly the same thing... unless you wanna shell out $200+ for authentic tail lights. head lights, on the other hand, you'd probably wanna get the real thing instead of those cheaper "halo projectors."

 

I got mine from Classic MINI in Ohio, back when they were having a closeout sale on some discontinued items like R53 prepainted aero kits. The lights I bought were not supposed to come w/ the clear 3rd brake light (part number on the box indicated so), but guess what, it was rattling around in the bottom of the box! I noticed it right as I was about to put the box in the garbage! Mispackaged from the factory, I think!

This just reminds me: I also have a set I originally purchased from ebay, never been installed. The glue for the weatherstripping came undone and I never got around to gluing them back on the the light assembly. They did not come with bulbs either, and I was having a bit of a time getting the correct bulbs in this little town in Alaska. It was just easier for me to pick up the factory kit w/ bulbs when Classic had them on sale. I've been meaning to put these up on the marketplace...
