SAY WHAT?!?! Blank buttons?

Ok so there have been a few hints dropped on these forums where people have said that they have blank buttons..... don't have all there toggles filled in. This is kinda unsettling because when i order my mini the only things im really getting are front and rear fog lights and cold weather pkg and...... thats it. No DSC or anything. So am i gonna have a mini with a cockpit filled with empty buttons and toggles. So if you have an empty dash or some answers fill me in.

Your toggle bank will be filled but you will have a couple buttons by the shifter that are blank. All US cars have at least one blank button... its used for the Windshield Heater which can only be ordered on Minis sold in the UK.

I have to disagree. The missing toggle would be for the rear fog lights required by law in Europe. You can easily purchase a new bank of toggle switches, not just replace the single switch that it missing. A little rewiring may be in order also.

Ok thanks.

On my current car there are a few blank buttons, that drive me CRAZY. At least you can find out what they were there for instead of a "mystery button".

Relax. It's not as bad as you're projecting. It's not bad at all.
Breathe deeply and say, "My Mini will be sweet!"

The 'buttons' are inconspicuous anyway.
The toggle switch bank contains 5 spots and will have 4 switches if you didn't order the rear fog light.

And what will 'her' name be and why did you choose it?
Mine was because of the color. Dragon green.

I was talking about Riffster's post. He said he was getting front & rear fogs but not DSC. So his toggles will be full. The DSC button is next to the shifter. As is Limited Slip Differential.

Sorry about that. I'm girl too.

Folks sometimes assume everyone's a guy on NAM... including me I guess.

Check out the threads that talk about naming your Mini -- there are some really GREAT suggestions there!

And the blank toggles really aren't very obvious. The "gag" stickers are pretty funny -- retractable tire shredders, ejection seat....
