trans

i thought my clutch went i found out it was my tranny does anyone know about how much it will cost for a new one or to get rebuilt

Did you try buying used?

Try LKQ.com. Do a search for a Mini tranny, see what pops up. With luck you could get one with a limited slip.

how hard is it do swap the trannys

Just put it in service mode, remove driver's strut and half shaft, remove passenger side half shaft, and then re and re the trans. It would take a good part of a weekend to do the swap.

Furthermore, you'd have to split flywheel housing from trans case if you're going to reuse your differential.

BTW I've got a stock diff with brand new phantom grip installed for sale in the marketplace..... .
