R50/53 Trying to bring MCS from US to Canada
Trying to bring MCS from US to Canada
I have read some past threads (from '07) on the new requirements for importing a BMW/Mini into Can from US. I know they will pull $500 out of my pocket for a Recall Clearance Letter and $350 for a Letter of Admissibility.
Does anyone have any recent experience? Specifically, was it simply activation of the DRLs? Or did they require a replacement of the instrument cluster (this is what BMW Canada told me would be required on the phone - even through US model has both miles and km). Anything else?
I am ready to pull the trigger but BMW Canada is trying everything possible to prevent us from saving $$$ bringing a car up from our neighbours.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. - check out bmw.ca/imports for some creative advise.
